Mr. Tran Luu Quang continues to be Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

On the morning of October 14, the 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee , term 2025 - 2030, officially opened with the participation of 546 delegates representing more than 366,000 party members in the entire party committee.

Attending the solemn opening session were General Secretary To Lam, former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, President Luong Cuong, former President Nguyen Minh Triet, former President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man , former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Van An, former National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu, and former Standing member of the Secretariat Le Hong Anh.

Also attending were members of the Politburo , members of the Secretariat, leaders of ministries, central branches, Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces.

At the congress, Mr. Nguyen Quang Duong, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee, announced the decision of the Politburo and the Secretariat on the appointment of the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, Deputy Secretaries, Inspection Committee, and Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term I, 2025 - 2030.

Accordingly, the new Ho Chi Minh City Party Executive Committee has 109 members, and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee has 28 members.

Mr. Tran Luu Quang , Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term, was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

Mr. Tran Luu Quang continues to hold the position of Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term.

Mr. Tran Luu Quang , 58 years old, has a master's degree in public administration, mechanical engineering, and a bachelor's degree in political theory.

Mr. Quang is a cadre who grew up from the grassroots, worked for a long time in Tay Ninh province, and held specialist positions at the Department of Planning and Investment, Tay Ninh Industrial Park Infrastructure Development Company, Department Head of the Department of Planning and Investment; Deputy Head of the Management Board of Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, Chairman of the People's Committee and then Secretary of Trang Bang District Party Committee.

At the 11th National Congress of the Party held in January 2011, Mr. Tran Luu Quang was elected as an alternate member of the Party Central Committee and has become an official member of the Party Central Committee since January 2016.

During the period from 2010 to February 2019, Mr. Tran Luu Quang held the following positions: Secretary of Trang Bang District Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Tay Ninh province.

In February 2019, the Politburo assigned Mr. Tran Luu Quang to hold the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee. More than 2 years later, he transferred to Hai Phong city and held the position of Secretary of the City Party Committee and Head of the city's National Assembly delegation.

In January 2023, Mr. Tran Luu Quang was approved by the National Assembly to hold the position of Deputy Prime Minister. From August 2024, the Politburo decided to transfer, assign, and appoint Mr. Quang to hold the position of Head of the Central Economic Committee (now the Central Policy and Strategy Committee).

At the end of August 2025, the Politburo assigned Mr. Tran Luu Quang to return to work in Ho Chi Minh City and hold the position of Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
