The second victim was crew member Ngo Hong Hai (born in 1984, in residential group 3, Dong Hai ward, Khanh Hoa province) who drifted into Hon Mui area, sea area of Binh Lap village, Nam Cam Ranh commune (Khanh Hoa province). On the evening of November 29, Vinh Hai Border Guard Station received a report from people discovering a body drifting at sea. The unit mobilized officers and vehicles of fishermen in Nam Cam Ranh commune to the scene, moved the victim's body to shore and handed it over to the family for funeral arrangements.
Previously, VNA reporters reported that fishing boat NT90329TS (140CV capacity) was operating a trawl net with Nguyen Van Trung (born in 1976, in residential group 28, Dong Hai ward, Khanh Hoa province) as captain and owner of the vessel; accompanied by 4 other crew members including Nguyen Hai The (born in 1973, in residential group 28, Dong Hai ward); Dao Thanh Thanh (born in 1982, in residential group 26, Dong Hai ward); Nguyen Thach Trung (born in 1992, in residential group 26, Dong Hai ward) and Ngo Hong Hai (born in 1984, in residential group 31, Dong Hai ward), Khanh Hoa province.
On the night of November 27, Mr. Nguyen Van Trung steered his boat from the sea to the shore to avoid storm No. 15. When he was about 300 meters from the shore, the waves suddenly hit hard and sank the fishing boat. When the incident happened, crew members Nguyen Hai The and Dao Thanh Thanh were able to swim to shore; the remaining 3 people, Nguyen Van Trung, Ngo Hong Hai and Nguyen Thach Trung, were missing at sea.
On November 28, the Vinh Hai Border Guard Station's working group found the body of crew member Nguyen Thach Trung; on November 30, they found another body of crew member Ngo Hong Hai. Thus, Mr. Nguyen Van Trung is still missing and has not been found, and the Border Guard force is still making efforts to search.
