This is very good news for Vietnamese basketball fans. Truong Twins are not only an important factor in the team's success in previous SEA Games but also two stars with a large fan base, receiving much admiration thanks to their talent and cheerful, friendly personality.
In their first time wearing the Vietnamese national team jersey at the 31st SEA Games on home soil, Thao My and Thao My performed brilliantly to bring home the first 3x3 basketball silver medal in history. Just one year later, at the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia, the duo continued to shine brightly, defeating the Philippines in the final match to bring home the historic gold medal.
At the Club level, Thao Vy is currently playing in Poland for AZS Poznan, while Thao My is competing in the Mongolian National Championship for Ulaanbaatar Amazons. Both will only participate in the 3x3 event and are not on the list of players competing in the traditional 5x5 event.
The Vietnamese women's 3x3 basketball team participated in the 33rd SEA Games with 4 athletes including: Truong Thao My, Truong Thao Vy, Nguyen Thi Tieu Duy (Ho Chi Minh City) and Bui Thu Hang ( Hanoi ).
With the presence of Truong Twins, the strength of the Vietnamese women's 3x3 basketball team has clearly increased and the whole team is certainly looking forward to this year's SEA Games with the hope of successfully defending the precious Gold Medal.
3x3 basketball at the SEA Games will take place on December 10 and 11. Truong Twins and his teammates will be in Group B with Singapore, host Thailand and Laos.
