Immediately after receiving the warning, Vietnam Airlines quickly coordinated with authorities, cybersecurity experts and technology partners to investigate the incident, assess the scope of impact and strengthen data protection measures.
Up to now, Vietnam Airlines has confirmed that sensitive data such as credit cards, payment information, passwords, itineraries, passports and Lotusmiles account balances of customers are still securely protected. The airline's internal information technology systems are not affected.
Vietnam Airlines will notify and guide customers on necessary support measures via email. The airline recommends that customers be wary of fake forms, suspicious emails or calls impersonating Vietnam Airlines, not share personal information or OTP codes, and not log into unauthenticated systems. To protect personal information, Vietnam Airlines recommends that customers change their Lotusmiles account passwords and associated emails.
