VIMC Shipping Company received and put into operation the ship VIMC Bright.

On July 15, 2025, at Yeosu anchorage (Korea), VIMC Shipping Company (VIMC Shipping) - a member unit of Vietnam National Shipping Lines - officially received the VIMC Bright, a modern Supramax bulk carrier chartered on a long-term bareboat basis. This event continues to mark a new development in VIMC Shipping's strategy to improve transport capacity and rejuvenate its fleet.

VIMC Bright, formerly known as Imke Selmer, is a Supramax bulk carrier with a deadweight of approximately 56,000 DWT, designed to operate efficiently on international shipping routes. The vessel is robust, fuel efficient and meets current environmental standards – in line with the growing global trend of green shipping.

The operation of VIMC Bright is part of VIMC Shipping's plan to develop its fleet in a professional, environmentally friendly and cost-optimized manner. With the ability to carry a variety of cargoes such as coal, clinker, fertilizer, grain or light ore, VIMC Bright will help increase flexibility in market exploitation and better meet the needs of domestic and international customers.

The long-term bareboat charter model allows VIMC Shipping to proactively manage, exploit and operate the vessel as an owned asset, while reducing the pressure of large initial investment. This model is being applied by many international shipping lines to expand fleet capacity while still ensuring financial efficiency.
