The UNESCO Dak Nong Global Geopark, established in 2015, covers an area of over 4,700 square kilometers, accounting for more than two-fifths of Dak Nong province's natural area, spanning six districts and towns. The Krong No volcanic cave in Dak Nong, formed over 140 million years ago by tectonic movements of the Earth's crust, transformed from a part of the vast ocean into a volcanic site. The geopark also contains paleontological heritage sites such as ammonite, shell, and bivalve fossils, proving that this area was once part of a vast ocean.
