Ms. My Dung said that this year, many people went to have their Tet photos taken very early, and her shop quickly updated its diverse range of designs, so the number of customers increased almost three or four times compared to last year. The shop had about 100 rental requests per day, and on weekends it could reach 150-200.

To attract customers, shops not only offer many promotions but also focus on design. Despite being quite far from the city center, the clothing rental shop, Tiệm Cô Tư, continues to receive numerous orders for ao dai rentals thanks to the unique designs of the ao dai and other garments made by the shop owner herself.

The shop owner said that the number of customers during Tet (Lunar New Year) increases by 100-200% compared to normal days.

"The shop updates its inventory annually, focusing on fabric quality to stay on trend. For example, each year there's a popular style: brocade, silk, or linen... We have to update our stock so customers can 'catch the trend,' which is essential to attract them. We mostly sell off older designs to avoid them becoming outdated," revealed the owner of Cô Tư Clothing Rental Shop.

Renting traditional Vietnamese ao dai dresses for Tet (Lunar New Year) is becoming increasingly popular because the ao dai is a traditional garment deeply rooted in Vietnamese culture, and the demand for Tet photoshoots is growing. In particular, renting an ao dai is more cost-effective than buying a new one.
