The highlight of the series of gratitude activities is the procession of the souls of martyrs who sacrificed their lives in Laos to the Temple - a rare sacred gesture, connecting the heroic past with the deep gratitude of today's generation.
Night of "Lighting candles - Welcoming Uncle Ho - Remembering those who have not returned"
On the night of July 26, at the Truong Son Martyrs Memorial Temple, Ca Roong-ATP, Road 20 Quyet Thang, the space became sacred with 288 candles lit sparklingly around the temple, symbolizing the souls whose names have never been mentioned, expressing the deep gratitude of today's generation.
The highlight of the gratitude night was the image of Uncle Ho's statue, restored from a photo taken in 1959 when he decided to open the Truong Son road, brought into the temple in a solemn atmosphere, like a reunion between him and his fallen children.
The program also has a tribute music night called: "Singing for those who lie in the middle of the great forest" with songs that have been with us through the years such as "Uncle is marching with us", "We sing on the top of Truong Son", "The color of red flowers"... performed by artists Trang Dung, Sim Nong, Le Manh Cuong...

Route 20 Quyet Thang: The fiery coordinates of the legendary Truong Son route
During the resistance war against the US, Route 20 Quyet Thang was the most important “cross-border” route in the entire Truong Son road system. Previously, Route 7 (Nghe An), Route 8 (Ha Tinh), and Route 12 (old Quang Binh ) were attacked by the enemy and were almost paralyzed for a period of time. At the end of January 1966, the Truong Son Command decided to open a new route, from the Son River ferry across the Lao border to the Lum Bum intersection on Lao soil to connect to Route 128.
After more than 4 months of construction, nearly 8,000 workers, including soldiers, youth volunteers, traffic workers, and frontline laborers, mostly aged 18-20, with hammers, machetes, and explosives... opened a new road, named Road 20 Quyet Thang.

From April 1966 until the Paris Agreement took effect, Route 20 Quyet Thang played a vital role in the entire Truong Son route, contributing significantly to the transportation of military forces, weapons, and provisions from the North to the battlefields in the South and supporting the battlefields of neighboring countries.
After only a short time of opening, Route 20 Quyet Thang became the most fiercely attacked target of the US Air Force. It was a place where American bombs and bullets tested the courage and bravery of Vietnamese men and women in their 20s.
From 1966 to the end of 1972, there was not a single meter of Highway 20 that did not have traces of bombs, bullets, and rockets; there was not a single curve, tunnel, or pass that was not a coordinate of fire. In particular, the key points of Ca Roong, A Ki, and ATP (abbreviation of the three key points of A-curve-Ta Le tunnel-Phu La Nhich pass adjacent to each other, within about 12km). It was calculated that each meter of land there suffered up to 2.2 tons of bombs.
Hundreds of officers, soldiers, engineers, drivers, liaison officers, military medics, anti-aircraft gunners, youth volunteers, traffic workers, frontline laborers… have died on this road. Many of them have no graves and no addresses…
Temple in the Clouds: A Spiritual Sign in the Midst of Oblivion
The Truong Son Martyrs Memorial Temple, Ca Roong-ATP, Road 20 Quyet Thang, was inaugurated on July 24, 2022, after more than 3 years of construction. This is a project built from the heart of those who have gone through the war, mobilized by Nong Thon Viet Magazine, with sponsorship from Mr. Duong Cong Minh, former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lien Viet Post Bank and Lien Viet Post Bank. The project was assigned by the People's Committee of Quang Binh Province (old) to the Provincial Youth Union for management and exploitation.

Unlike other cemeteries - where martyrs' remains are gathered from all over - this temple was built in the very place that used to be the "dead zone" on both the east and west wings of Truong Son, only 1km from the border marker as the crow flies.
Those who died here, their names may have been inscribed on a tombstone in a cemetery somewhere. But, many of them, their bodies have turned into plants and their souls still guard this borderland day and night, but their names have never been recorded anywhere.
Therefore, the Truong Son Martyrs Memorial Temple, Ca Roong-ATP, Road 20 Quyet Thang, has no names of any martyrs, no graves, no plaques, but is a resting place for all the souls of martyrs who sacrificed on Road 20 Quyet Thang, especially at places such as A-shaped crab, Ta Le tunnel, Phu-la-nhich pass, Ca Toc, Lum Bum... in the neighboring country.
Ceremony to bring the souls of martyrs from Laos back to Vietnam: A special and meaningful event took place on July 27 - the ceremony to bring the souls of martyrs who died in Laos during the resistance war. These are the children of the Fatherland who have remained in the deep forests of Laos, without graves or relatives. The ceremony is expected to create a sacred bridge to bring them back to their motherland, back to their roots.
