Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc in the role of a security guard (The play "The Inner Secrets of Adultery" - Thien Dang Theatre)
Inspired by the script "The Irony of Fate" by Emil Braghininsk & Elda Riazanov, Le Hoang Giang took on three roles: screenwriter, director, and actor, seemingly a commendable effort given the opportunity by Thien Dang Theatre. Nevertheless, the rehearsal on the afternoon of January 21st was successful; however, according to Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc, more thorough practice is needed before the performance.
Doctor Nam Nhan gets drunk on New Year's Eve, leading to hilarious and awkward situations.
Those who have seen "The Irony of Fate" know it's a play full of conflict, drama, and extreme romance. Le Hoang Giang has adapted the story to Vietnamese culture, specifically on New Year's Eve. Lukashin's friends have a habit of meeting at public bathhouses, then getting drunk before returning home, leading to hilarious and awkward situations through the story of Dr. Nam Nhan and elementary school teacher Trang.
Nam Nhân has a fiancée, and Trang, the teacher, is also preparing to end her single life. Then, the intricacies of their lifestyles and ways of thinking are dissected when both realize that in their feelings for their future spouses, "loving each other without understanding each other, the more you love, the more you suffer."
Artists Huong Giang and Ho Giang Bao Son have two really great roles.
Hearty laughter erupted from the comical and absurd situations. All the reasoning was explained so that Nam Nhân realized his disastrous mistake of entering Ms. Trang's house because he was too drunk.
The play's plot, with its evolving characters and situations, led the audience to many surprises. However, it can be said that the play reached its climax when the character of Mr. Nam Canh – the apartment building's security guard – appeared.
It was through the influence of friends, neighbors in the apartment building, and even the behavior of their prospective spouse, that the love story between Doctor Nam Nhan and Teacher Trang gradually unfolded, filled with sweet moments.
The play "The Inner Secrets of Adultery" provided an opportunity for young actors to shine.
While still following the pattern of resolving conflicts stemming from misunderstandings, Lê Hoàng Giang's approach to framing the issues and telling the story, if practiced more carefully and rhythmically, would create a dynamic interplay and interaction with the audience, multiplying the laughter.
In the story "A Twist of Fate," many viewers questioned whether the love between Lukashin and Nadia developed too quickly. "The Inner Story of Adultery" offers a compelling explanation. Interestingly, viewers will realize that when love lacks compassion and selfishness in a marriage, it's difficult to maintain a lasting relationship.
Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc transforms gracefully in the play "The Inner Secrets of Adultery".
Nam Nhân, portrayed by screenwriter Lê Hoàng Giang, is a kind-hearted doctor, and Trang is a compassionate teacher; they welcome the new year together with many beautiful aspirations.
Watching the performance allows you to clearly feel the investment in the young team, enabling them to perform confidently and bring a fresh perspective to the overall Thiên Đăng stage.
Following the principle of creating decent art, Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc also stepped back to a supporting role in this play to help the younger cast. His role satirizes petty corruption and condemns those who drink alcohol and drive.
The charm of the security guard character broadly encapsulates a general image of behavior within a neighborhood or apartment complex, where failure to maintain order can lead to unpredictable consequences.
Tet plays should be fun, but as citizen artists, laughter must also carry the responsibility of dispelling bad habits and contributing to building a better community life.
The performance features artists such as Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc, Huong Giang, Ho Giang Bao Son, Ngoc Xuyen, Le Hoang Giang, Trang Tuyen, Xuan Pham, and others.
In terms of music, the play incorporated many lively and cheerful melodies, and also recreated the regional culture of ethnic minorities. Although it was just a small detail, it made the play vibrant and cheerful.
