Vigar died from serious injuries. |
According to The Guardian, Vigar, a Chichester City player, could not be saved after suffering a serious head injury during an Isthmian League match last weekend.
The incident occurred during the match between Chichester City and Wingate & Finchley, just 13 minutes into the game before the referee was forced to cancel it. Vigar was immediately rushed to the hospital and fell into a coma. Despite undergoing emergency surgery on September 23rd, the injuries were too severe, and he passed away in the early hours of September 26th ( Hanoi time).
Vigar joined the Arsenal academy at the age of 14 after being discovered at local club Hove Rivervale FC. He quickly established himself, scoring 17 goals in his first season at Hale End. In 2020, he was awarded a scholarship before signing a professional contract with Arsenal in 2022. While playing for the Gunners, Vigar competed in the Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy, demonstrating his versatility by being willing to play in multiple positions for the team.
Besides Arsenal, Vigar also spent time on loan at Derby County U21, as well as playing for Eastbourne Borough and Hastings United. In the summer of 2024, he joined Chichester City with high expectations of starting a new journey.
Arsenal, Derby County, and many other clubs have paid their heartfelt tributes to Vigar. Arsenal described him as “a quick, strong, and highly determined forward who was always proud to wear the North London club’s shirt.”
