Former player Vu Nhu Thanh helps Hai Phong Club create a turning point

On January 3, Hai Phong club signed a cooperation agreement with Vietstar Academy football center in training young players. The new partner of the port city team is a community football center with two former national players Vu Nhu Thanh and Dang Phuong Nam on the director team.

This unit is also one of the pioneering community football centers to cooperate with professional training units to build the next generation of talented players. This cooperation helps Hai Phong club build a methodical and professional training model.

"The signing ceremony affirms Vietstar's seriousness and dedication in constantly standardizing training quality, creating motivation to nurture young talents, contributing to building a sustainable national football foundation," said former defender Vu Nhu Thanh, director of Vietstar center.

This contract is considered a turning point for Hai Phong FC. The port city team has never been considered a cradle for training young players, not to mention high or low quality. In fact, for many years, Hai Phong FC had to ask the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) for an exception to maintain their professional certification, thereby qualifying to compete in the V.League.

In April 2023, Hai Phong Club and Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism committed to implementing a youth training system during a working session with VFF and AFC. Cooperating with former player Vu Nhu Thanh is the next step in the process of rebuilding the youth football system of the port city team.
