Supplementary activities for traditional education for non-commissioned officers and soldiers of Regiment 971, January 2026.

From this forum, everyone gained a deeper understanding of the unit's traditions. The 971st Regiment was established on May 16, 1986, under the command of the Quang Nam- Da Nang Provincial Armed Forces, now the Da Nang City Armed Forces. Over its 40-year journey of development and growth, building upon the heroic traditions of the Da Nang City Armed Forces and inheriting the heroic traditions of the People's Armed Forces units of Battalion 1 (R20), Battalion 2 (V25), and Battalion 3 - Front 44 Quang Da, generations of officers and soldiers of the 971st Regiment have continuously strived, worked hard, united, overcome many difficulties and hardships, and built a clean and strong Party Committee, linked to a comprehensively strong unit.

Over the years, the Party Committee and the Regiment's command have focused on leading efforts to improve the quality of training and combat readiness; promoting the campaigns "Upholding traditions, contributing talents, worthy of being called Ho Chi Minh's soldiers," and "The Army's logistics sector following Ho Chi Minh's teachings";... contributing to the transformation of weaknesses and difficulties in combat readiness and the establishment of regular discipline. Implementing Directive 917 (now Directive 79) of the Minister of National Defense, the quality of building a strong and comprehensive unit has become increasingly profound, and the awareness of law and discipline among officers and soldiers has been continuously enhanced.

Officers and soldiers of Regiment 971 actively and effectively participated in the "Gratitude and Repayment" movement, the "Joining Hands to Build New Rural Areas" campaign, and the "Army Joins Hands for the Poor" journey. Upholding the tradition of solidarity and close ties between the military and the people, over the past 10 years, the Regiment has mobilized 5,686 officers and soldiers, contributing 12,327 man-days to assist people in disadvantaged areas; participated in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic, supplied food and provisions; and effectively carried out work in preventing, mitigating, and overcoming the consequences of storms and floods, and fighting forest fires...

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Nhon, Political Commissar of Regiment 971, said that in addition to political education according to the basic program, battalions and companies proactively invest time in compiling materials, building visual charts, models, panels, and photo boards to better introduce the traditions and outstanding achievements of the unit.

In the annual basic political education program for all personnel, political agencies incorporate questions related to the unit's traditions. At training commencement ceremonies and end-of-training inspections, political agencies include propaganda content as well as a system of questions to assess the officers' and soldiers' understanding of historical traditions. All agencies and units prioritize the dissemination of historical and traditional information through theatrical performances.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Cong Tu, Head of Political Affairs of Regiment 971, the unit's traditional education work is not just empty slogans but is demonstrated through practical actions. Traditional education in particular, and political education in general, has instilled faith and political responsibility, contributing to helping officers and soldiers cultivate a sense of discipline and a spirit of enduring hardship, overcoming difficulties, and striving to excellently fulfill their duties.
