Underground Tunnels: The Sun in the Darkness is the only war-themed film released in April. Directed and written by Bui Thac Chuyen, the film is set during the Vietnam War in 1967 and stars Thai Hoa, Quang Tuan, Ho Thu Anh, Diem Hang, Cao Minh, and others. It premiered on April 4th. Director Bui Thac Chuyen said that veterans told him many stories about human kindness amidst the flames of war. Besides recreating the brutal reality of war, he also wanted to tell the story of the indomitable and heroic qualities of the Vietnamese people.
