In addition, authorities administratively handled 37 people, seized nearly 60 kg of drugs, 2 guns and many related exhibits.
Through investigation, the investigation agency determined that from mid-2022 to the time of arrest, the subjects had bought and sold more than 109,000 ecstasy pills; 80kg of Ketamine, crystal meth and 3,000 packages of happy water (a new type of drug) with a total transaction amount of more than 52 billion VND.

The Ho Chi Minh City Police Department is continuing to direct professional forces and local police to coordinate the investigation and expand the case to strictly handle it according to the provisions of the law.
Regarding the case, on April 26, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department informed that the authorities have clarified the shipment discovered on March 16, in which female flight attendants were exploited to transport drugs from France to Vietnam.
At the same time, the investigation agency identified 6 more shipments containing various types of synthetic drugs by the same Vietnamese subject residing in France, using the trick of hiding drugs in toothpaste tubes, functional food boxes, etc.
The trick of this group is to take advantage of Vietnamese people studying and settling in France who receive international goods collection and express delivery services to transport drugs to Vietnam via Noi Bai International Airport.
Then, they used a domestic express delivery service to deliver the drugs to a subject in Dong Nai, split them into separate packages, and transported them by road to subjects in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong to continue dividing them into smaller packages and selling them at many locations in Ho Chi Minh City and several other provinces and cities.
Ho Chi Minh City police said that the arrest process encountered many difficulties because the subjects used many sophisticated coping methods and used technology delivery services to deliver and receive drugs.
Previously, at 8:45 a.m. on March 16, through routine cargo screening, Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch discovered a shipment of about 60 kg, including 4 suitcases of flight attendants, which was suspicious and so was inspected.
After that, this agency coordinated with the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security and the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police to inspect and discover in 4 suitcases, in addition to personal items, a total of 327 tubes of toothpaste (unopened, many different brands, each tube contained in a separate paper box) and 17 bottles of mouthwash.
Checking the toothpaste tubes mentioned above, authorities discovered 157 tubes containing a total of 11,284.57 grams of Ketamine and MDMA drugs.
On March 17, Tan Son Nhat Airport Customs Branch transferred the case file and evidence to the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department for further investigation according to its authority.
Based on the investigation results, on March 21, the authorities met, comprehensively evaluated the collected documents and evidence, and compared the provisions of the law. Initially, they determined that when the four flight attendants mentioned above were staying in France, a Vietnamese person asked them to transfer consumer goods, 327 tubes of toothpaste and 17 bottles of mouthwash, to Vietnam via Tan Son Nhat airport to send to their families.
These flight attendants did not know that 157 of the 327 tubes of toothpaste they were transporting contained drugs. Therefore, there was not enough evidence to prosecute the four flight attendants.
On March 22, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department issued a decision to release the four flight attendants mentioned above.
The Ho Chi Minh City Police Department has initiated a case of illegal drug transportation to investigate and clarify the nature of the incident and strictly handle related subjects according to regulations.
