On June 10th, Booking.com , a booking platform, released its latest survey on the most popular domestic and international destinations for Vietnamese travelers this summer. Beach tourism remains the top trend, with coastal cities accounting for over 50% of bookings.

Da Nang, Vietnam's most livable city, topped the ranking, followed by Nha Trang and Phu Quoc in second place. The remaining destinations included Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, Hoi An, Hanoi , Ha Long, Hue, and Vung Tau. In 2022, Da Nang remained the most popular name in the top 10. Hoi An and Hanoi are new additions this year, replacing Mui Ne and Quy Nhon, which appeared in last year's top rankings.

Bangkok (Thailand) topped the list of the 10 most searched international destinations by Vietnamese tourists. Following closely behind were Singapore, Paris (France), Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (South Korea), Sydney (Australia), London (UK), Rome (Italy), New York (USA), and Taipei (China). In 2022, Singapore was the most desired destination for Vietnamese tourists, with last year's champion Bangkok ranking second.

Hotels and resorts are the top choice for travelers on vacation, followed by rental apartments, homestays, and guesthouses.

According to According to Booking's 2023 Travel Forecast, 74% of Vietnamese people believe that travel is always a worthwhile experience, and 78% believe that summer is the best time to travel. Vietnamese travelers are concerned about the global economic situation but have no intention of abandoning their travel plans. However, they are considering allocating their travel budgets more carefully, taking advantage of deals, travel tips, and choosing the right time to travel. 74% of respondents prioritize using discount programs.

The survey results are based on data from people searching for and booking rooms on the Booking app from April 3rd to 16th, with check-in dates from July 1st to August 31st.
