Diverse forms of communication

In 2023, the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications guided press agencies and the Da Nang City Electronic Information Portal to strengthen communication on digital transformation through mass media; opening special pages and sections on the National Digital Transformation Program, building e-government, smart city, and Da Nang's digital transformation.

Currently, there are nearly 100 in-depth news articles on digital transformation in the area, contributing to promoting awareness of digital transformation among the general public.

Meanwhile, the Smart Monitoring and Operating Information Center regularly communicates and disseminates laws, compiles and publishes news/articles/images of activities and events related to digital transformation at units, localities, and organizations with a frequency of 3-5 articles/week on social media. At the same time, it organizes digital transformation awareness activities using visual forms such as billboards, banners, posters, flags, infographics, leaflets, handbooks, videos , etc.

The center also maintains a hotline and guidance and support channels for digital transformation; receiving feedback and suggestions on digital transformation in Da Nang through the 1022 hotline, the Danang Smart City app, and the feedback application (gopy.danang.gov.vn).

The grassroots information system actively communicates about digital transformation, with approximately 300 categories, utilizing over 500 news items and nearly 400 articles.

At the grassroots level, the Vietnam Fatherland Front in wards and communes coordinates the dissemination of policies and enhances policies for community digital transformation teams; organizes training on digital transformation for heads and deputy heads of the Fatherland Front working committees in residential areas, aiming to change perceptions about the role, significance, and importance of digital transformation from the grassroots level.

Spreading digital transformation

In response to Da Nang City's Digital Transformation Day (August 28) and the National Digital Transformation Day (October 10) annually, agencies and units have implemented communication campaigns using billboards, banners, posters, and flags. Accordingly, more than 460 digital transformation handbooks, 6,000 leaflets, 230 posters, and 460 flags and billboards have been used to promote digital transformation.

During the recent peak period, agencies and units organized communication activities such as mini-games to learn about Da Nang City's digital transformation in 2023, created photo reports, infographics, hashtags, posted banners promoting digital transformation-related content, and launched campaigns to change profile picture frames…

In response to Digital Transformation Day, units signed commitments to implement the "cashless payment" model, including schools, health centers, business households, and small traders at Hoa Ninh market.

Many training activities help staff acquire additional skills in digital transformation in their professional work, enabling them to better serve the people.

Specifically, the People's Committee of Hoa Vang district organized conferences and competitions, such as the launching ceremony of the emulation movement to implement digital transformation in the education sector for the period 2022-2025, the launch of the "Smart Education Operations Center, IOC" model in Hoa Vang district; and the "Designing products for disseminating information on administrative reform" competition for departments, units under the district and the People's Committees of 11 communes…

The People's Committee of Ngu Hanh Son District organized a signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding to implement the digital transformation cooperation program for 2023-2024; and provided digital transformation training for youth union members…

The People's Committee of Hai Chau District launched a campaign to celebrate the National Digital Transformation Day on October 10, 2023, with the theme "Creating and exploiting digital data to create value," initiating a competitive movement to find effective digital transformation solutions and models...

As a pioneering force, the City Youth Union, in coordination with the Department of Information and Communications, organized the "Youth Pioneer Festival for Digital Transformation" in 2023, with the participation of over 700 union members and many businesses. At the same time, the Standing Committee of the City Youth Union directed all levels of the Youth Union to proactively and extensively implement activities participating in digital transformation. Youth Union activities related to digital transformation were spread across all aspects of work; focusing on developing and applying new and innovative approaches.

Digital transformation - starting with the right awareness.

According to an online survey by the Da Nang Smart Information and Monitoring Center, all sectors and units are interested in applying digital transformation in their professional fields such as: data management, information security; reporting processes, training, team meetings or collaborative work; exploiting and processing press information; data analysis, prediction and decision support for management levels…

Based on that, units and localities wish for the responsible agency to strengthen communication efforts in the following areas: Disseminating the Party's viewpoints and guidelines, and the State's policies and laws; Da Nang City's policies and strategies on digital transformation; the impact of digital transformation, digital government, and digital technology on the socio-economic development of Da Nang City; solutions for developing digital government, digital economy, and digital society; priority areas for digital transformation in Da Nang City; and communicating and guiding people to act in a culturally appropriate manner in the digital society, fostering a digital culture.

Based on the initial results of digital transformation communication efforts, Ms. Nguyen Thu Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Da Nang City, affirmed that, from a state management perspective, relevant agencies need to focus on promoting digital transformation, with the emphasis on developing the digital economy - the foundation for serving citizens and businesses.

The digital economy, built on a foundation of extensive digital transformation, will be a long-term strategy for comprehensive and sustainable development. Simultaneously, to implement the Digital Transformation Communication Project in Da Nang City for the period 2022-2025 effectively, in the coming years, the Department of Information and Communications will continue to advise the Da Nang City People's Committee on issuing annual plans, strengthening coordination among departments, agencies, and localities to enhance the implementation of specific tasks and solutions in the project. This includes further diversifying communication methods to reach citizens and businesses, working together with the Da Nang Party Committee and government to achieve significant successes in the digital transformation process.
