Kinhtedothi - On the evening of November 22nd, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Lak province organized a ceremony to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the founding of Dak Lak province (November 22nd, 1904 – November 22nd, 2024). The ceremony was held at 10/3 Square (Buon Ma Thuot City).

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, informed that, after 120 years of establishment and development, Dak Lak has become a relatively prosperous province in the Central-Central Highlands region. The province has a natural area and population among the largest in the country. It boasts the largest area and production of coffee, pepper, and durian in the country; and is an important transportation hub in the Central Highlands.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, delivered a speech at the ceremony.

Dak Lak province's economy maintains a relatively high growth rate; its Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) ranks first in the Central Highlands region. During the 2021-2023 period, average economic growth reached 7% per year, and the scale of the economy is expanding; GRDP per capita is estimated to reach nearly 75 million VND in 2024. The structure of economic sectors has shifted positively, gradually reducing the proportion of agriculture and increasing the proportion of services, industry, and construction; the agricultural sector is being restructured towards high added value and sustainable development; the province's appearance and character have undergone many positive changes.

Social and cultural progress has been made, social security is ensured; the material and spiritual lives of the people have been improved, especially in remote areas and areas inhabited by ethnic minorities. Party building and the construction of the political system have always been given attention; the organization and operation of the administrative apparatus have been gradually reformed towards streamlining, effectiveness, and efficiency; national defense and security have been strengthened and maintained, the country's borders are firmly protected; international cooperation and regional linkages have been effectively promoted. These achievements contribute to the overall development of the region and the country, forming the foundation for the next stages, enabling Dak Lak to develop rapidly and sustainably on the path of integration and development...

Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh delivered a speech at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh acknowledged, highly appreciated, and warmly congratulated and commended the efforts and achievements of the Party Committee, government, military, and people of Dak Lak province in the past period.

Comrade Nguyen Hoa Binh emphasized that, in order to achieve sustainable development and live up to its position as the central hub and driving force of the Central Highlands region, Dak Lak province needs to continue closely following the Central Government's directives, concretizing the goals and tasks outlined in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the 17th Dak Lak Provincial Party Congress (2020-2025 term), especially Conclusion No. 67 of the Politburo on the construction and development of Buon Ma Thuot City, and Resolution No. 23 of the Politburo on the direction of socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the Central Highlands region. Resolution No. 72 of the National Assembly on piloting some specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Buon Ma Thuot City and Decision No. 1747 of the Prime Minister approving the planning of Dak Lak province, striving to achieve the goal by 2050 that Dak Lak "becomes a province with ecological space, identity, creative connectivity, a favorite and livable destination".

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh also directed Dak Lak province to mobilize its combined strength, effectively exploit its potential and advantages for development, and strongly promote new growth drivers, especially digital transformation, green transformation, circular economy, sharing economy, knowledge economy, and new industries and high-tech sectors. He emphasized the need to innovate the economic model, focusing on developing large-scale, high-quality, and export-oriented agricultural and forestry products with competitive advantages. He also stressed the importance of promoting agricultural processing of agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products, as well as renewable energy production; building an urban economy, digital infrastructure, transportation and irrigation infrastructure; developing services, logistics, and tourism based on digital transformation; preserving cultural heritage values; and selecting economic activities that are consistent with local cultural characteristics.

Building a clean, strong, honest, and proactive political system that serves the people; streamlining the political system's organizational structure to be lean, efficient, effective, and efficient with high determination. Tightening discipline and order, promoting decentralization and delegation of power; reforming the administration and improving the investment environment. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong presented the Certificate of Recognition for the National Treasure "Collection of Thac Hai Stone Drill Bits" to Dak Lak province.

Also within the framework of the ceremony commemorating the 120th anniversary of the founding of Dak Lak province, Mr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism - presented the Certificate of National Treasure recognition for the "Collection of Thac Hai Stone Drill Bits" to Dak Lak province. In addition, the National Institute of Records conducted an inspection and established three national records for the province: Dak Lak is the province with the largest coffee growing area in Vietnam (reaching 212,106 hectares); Lak Lake, Lak district, Dak Lak province is the largest natural freshwater lake in the Central Highlands of Vietnam (over 500 hectares, at an altitude of nearly 417 meters above sea level); and Yok Don National Park, Dak Lak province is the largest national park preserving the dry dipterocarp forest ecosystem in Vietnam.

The artistic program at the ceremony was a highlight.
