Mansour Ojjeh, a French businessman of Arab origin, is not only famous in the business field but also a key figure in making the McLaren supercar brand a force in both the F1 racing circuit and the car industry. In 2021, he passed away, leaving behind a huge fortune, including 20 McLarens that his family hoped would find a new buyer, not to sell individually. And recently, the late Mansour Ojjeh's extraordinary collection of 20 McLarens was sold to a single buyer.
Although the world media has tried to dig up news about this billionaire, there is absolutely no information, and clearly, this deal marks one of the most important and rare supercar transactions in recent history. According to some sources, someone has spent more than $70 million (over 1,700 billion VND) on 20 McLaren cars in the collection of Mansour Ojjeh. The collection is home to some of the most iconic McLaren models ever built under one owner, at least until now. Ojjeh's collection of McLaren supercars, curated over decades, features cars that few enthusiasts would ever imagine seeing in person, many of which have never been driven, despite being delivered years ago. The highlight of this collection is the last McLaren F1 ever built, finished in a special shade of Mansour Orange, a colour now inseparable from the legend of its creator. Originally named “Yquem”, the colour was later renamed “Mansour Orange” in honour of the F1’s owner.
This McLaren F1 alone, with its 618-horsepower V12 engine and ability to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds, could be considered a gem in any collection, worth tens of millions of dollars. The collection also includes the Senna, Senna GTR, P1, P1 GTR, Speedtail, Sabre and Elva, making up a long list of McLaren’s finest supercars. Among the rarities in the collection is a Magnesium Silver McLaren F1, one of only seven officially imported into the United States. Originally delivered to Oracle founder Larry Ellison in 1997, the car spent more than a decade in his possession but traveled less than 2,600 miles during that time before it entered the exclusive collection of the French-Saudi businessman. Meticulously maintained, the car features upgrades including an aluminum fuel tank instead of a standard one, a sports exhaust, a new air conditioning system and new tires. Its provenance alone makes it one of the most desirable F1s on the planet, and industry experts estimate it could fetch up to $23 million at auction in the future.
Tom Hartley Jnr described the sale as “a legendary collection, a historic deal”, stressing the careful decision to keep the fleet intact. Despite world record bids for each car, particularly the McLaren F1, the Ojjeh and Hartley families only sold to collectors who bought 20 cars at a time. “This is not just a sale – it is the passing of an important and cherished legacy,” said Hartley. “The Mansour Ojjeh Collection represents the best of what McLaren stands for – innovation, individuality, quality and excellence.” From 2021 to 2025, Mansour Ojjeh’s collection remained largely untouched, kept in pristine condition under the direct care of McLaren. In June 2025, the collection was officially put up for sale by classic car dealer Tom Hartley Jr.
