The 1st Congress of Khanh Lam Commune Party Committee, term 2025-2030

On August 18-19, the 1st Party Congress of Khanh Lam Commune, term 2025-2030, was successfully held. Attending and directing the Congress were comrade Tran Huu Phuoc, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Department of Home Affairs and representatives of departments, branches, and the Working Group of the Provincial Party Standing Committee directing the Party Congress of communes and wards.

Khanh Lam commune was established on the basis of merging Khanh Lam and Khanh Hoi communes and a part of Nguyen Phich commune. During the 2020-2025 term, the commune's economic situation continued to maintain stable growth, the economic structure shifted in the right direction, bringing many positive results.

Agricultural production achieved positive results with a total rice cultivation area of ​​5,220 hectares, an average yield of 4.6 tons/ha, reaching 101.9% of the resolution target. The aquaculture area reached 2,520 hectares, of which 1,288 hectares were improved extensive shrimp farming; the output of aquatic products reached 102.85% of the plan. Aquaculture activities were effective and stable; fishing logistics services continued to be expanded; aquatic resources protection was strengthened. The whole commune currently has 5 cooperatives with 364 members and 22 cooperative groups with 438 members, of which 3 cooperatives operate in the agricultural sector. Besides economic development, Khanh Lam commune also achieved many achievements in the fields of science, technology and digital transformation. The application of information technology in state agencies has been promoted, contributing to improving the effectiveness of leadership, direction and operation. The education sector has been given special attention, and up to now, 7/8 schools have met national standards level 1, accounting for 88.89% of the total number of schools in the area. Medical work and public health care have been effectively implemented; the rate of poor and near-poor households has decreased gradually over the years. Currently, the commune has 330 poor households and 122 near-poor households; in particular, 4 hamlets have eliminated all poor households.

The new term 2025-2030 is very important, it is the decisive stage in implementing the 10-year socio-economic development strategy (2021-2030); it is the first term to implement a 2-level local government, this is an opportunity for development but also intertwined with high challenges, requiring synchronous investment in infrastructure, focusing on capital for socio-economic development of the commune, especially developing the marine economy and the strong change of digital transformation among cadres and people.

The Congress set out 15 main targets, 4 breakthroughs and 6 key groups of solutions, with the goal of striving to bring Khanh Lam to the advanced new rural standards by 2026 and the model new rural area by 2030. In particular, the focus is to increase the total state budget revenue in the area by an average of 7-9%/year; the average annual growth rate of total product value in the area by 5-7%/year; the multidimensional poverty rate by 2030 is below 2%; the average income per capita in the area by 2030 is 85 million VND/year...

The Congress introduced the Party Executive Committee for the 2025-2030 term, consisting of 21 comrades. Comrade Huynh Minh Nguyen was appointed as Secretary of the Khanh Lam Commune Party Committee. The delegation attending the Ca Mau Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term includes 5 official delegates and 1 alternate delegate.

Speaking at the congress, comrade Tran Huu Phuoc emphasized: “The commune Party Committee needs to thoroughly grasp that Party building is the key, better direct the work of Party building, and build a clean and strong political system. Strengthen solidarity, unify will and action in the entire Party Committee, maintain the principles of discipline and order, promote responsibility to set an example, and promote the exemplary role of leaders. Implement well the Party's rules, especially the principle of democratic centralism in the direction of being close to the people, serving the people”. Identifying agriculture - forestry - fishery as strengths, on the basis of the province's general planning, the commune needs to promote its strengths in the direction of multi-cropping to improve economic efficiency associated with developing the marine economy, expanding fishing logistics services; applying science and technology to production, restructuring the industry in a sustainable and effective direction; protecting and developing natural resources, developing the collective economy; building new rural areas and improving people's lives.
