The Secretariat's direction on responding to storm No. 5 (Kajiki)

On August 23, Politburo member and Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu signed and issued Official Dispatch No. 70-CV/TW of the Secretariat on responding to storm No. 5 (international name: Kajiki).

Typhoon No. 5 (Kajiki) may reach level 12-13 according to forecast.

Official dispatch to: Provincial Party Committees, City Party Committees, Party Committees directly under the Central Committee; Central Party Committees; Party Committees of ministries, branches, socio -political organizations at the Central level; Party Committees of Central public service units; Comrades members of the Central Party Executive Committee.

The dispatch stated: According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting and international forecasting centers, storm No. 5 (Kajiki) may reach level 12-13, gusting to level 15-16 in the Gulf of Tonkin and the sea area from Quang Tri province to Hue city. This is a strong storm with a wide-ranging path and impact, the Secretariat directed:

1. This is a very strong storm, moving quickly, with a wide and dangerous range and intensity of influence on sea and land. According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the storm will continue to strengthen; it is forecast that by the morning of August 25, the storm will likely reach level 11-12, gusting to level 15, on the sea from Thanh Hoa province to Hue city and move into the mainland of the Central region.

2. To proactively respond to storms and heavy rains, the risk of flash floods, landslides, inundation, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property and State property, the Standing Secretariat requests Party committees, Party organizations, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to proactively strengthen direction, supervision, inspection and response according to the 4-on-the-spot motto, not to be negligent or subjective with storm No. 5 (Kajiki), to minimize damage; update the situation daily and send reports to the Central Party Office (before 4:00 p.m. daily).

3. The Central Party Office shall preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to monitor and synthesize the situation, and daily report to the Politburo and Secretariat on relevant situations.
