On September 22, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations (UFO) held its 3rd Congress of Delegates for the 2023-2028 term.

The Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations has 5 member organizations including the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association, the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association, the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association, the Vietnam - Korea Friendship Association, and the Association for Liaison with Overseas Vietnamese of the province.
During the past term, the Provincial People's Council has effectively implemented people's foreign affairs with many outstanding results: advising the province to issue resolutions and plans on foreign affairs; strengthening relations with foreign partners and localities with traditional relations and establishing relations with new partners; promoting propaganda activities, commemorating diplomatic events in the province as well as the world, domestic and local situation; propagating about islands and the situation in the East Sea, territorial borders.
Peace , solidarity, friendship and people-to-people cooperation activities were organized and implemented with diverse contents and forms; mobilizing and implementing 16 project/non-project aid packages with a total value of more than 22 billion VND, focusing on investment in the fields of education, health, poverty reduction, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the province.

Foreign information activities have many innovations, contributing to promoting and introducing the image of Dak Lak to international friends. Member associations operate in accordance with their principles and purposes, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of members; being proactive in activities and achieving many positive results.
The Congress agreed on the targets to strive for in the 2023-2028 term: building a comprehensively strong Standing Agency of the Friendship Union, the leading unit of the Friendship Union of the Central Highlands provinces; building strong and effective existing member organizations, striving to develop 1-2 new bilateral friendship organizations by 2026, building 1-2 friendship clubs; organizing 5-7 people-to-people diplomacy events with other countries each year; mobilizing foreign non-governmental aid of 20 billion VND; annually organizing 1-2 training courses on people-to-people diplomacy for district and grassroots officials; striving to excellently complete tasks in foreign information work...

Speaking at the Congress, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kđoh suggested that in the coming time, the Provincial VFF continue to innovate and improve the effectiveness of people-to-people foreign affairs activities, strengthen peace, solidarity, friendship and people-to-people cooperation activities; effectively carry out foreign information work, introduce and promote the image of the country, people, potentials and strengths of the locality, contributing to attracting investment resources for socio-economic development; effectively deploy the work of mobilizing foreign non-governmental aid, focusing on investment in priority areas, contributing to implementing social security and building new rural areas; do a better job of mobilizing overseas Vietnamese to turn to the Fatherland, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, contributing to building and developing the country...

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations for the 2023-2028 term, consisting of 33 members (3 people are vacant); elected Mr. Le Cu, Mr. Nguyen Huu Duoc and Mr. Nie Khanh Hai to hold the position of Vice President of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations for the 2023-2028 term (vacant position of President).

The Congress also awarded emulation titles: Third-class Labor Medal from the President to Mr. Dinh Tien Dung - Chairman of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations for the 2016-2021 term, Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister to the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations for its outstanding achievements in work from 2016 to 2020, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland; awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 3 collectives and 5 individuals with outstanding achievements in people's foreign affairs...
