On the morning of June 2, at Sac Tu Khai Doan Pagoda, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province solemnly held the Buddha's Birthday Ceremony, Buddhist calendar 2567 - solar calendar 2023, with the participation of a large number of monks, nuns, and Buddhists.

Vesak (the anniversary of the Buddha's birth) has been recognized by the United Nations General Assembly as a world cultural and religious festival, held annually; an occasion to honor the profound humanistic values ​​of Buddhism : Compassion and wisdom; tolerance and harmony; respect and protection of people, life and the ecological environment; building people and a peaceful, harmoniously and sustainably developed social community in peace , friendship and friendly cooperation.

This year's ceremony is more meaningful as the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha celebrates the 60th anniversary of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc's self-immolation (1963 - 2023). This is a shining symbol of the spirit of Compassion, Wisdom, Courage and the spirit of engagement of Vietnamese Buddhism, on the path of serving the Dharma and the Nation.

Speaking at the Buddha's Birthday celebration, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Y Giang province, Gry Nie Knong, acknowledged the great contributions of the provincial Buddhist Sangha and Buddhists in the past time, always accompanying the people of all ethnic groups in the province, agreeing and uniting to actively participate in local patriotic emulation movements.

He respectfully wished monks, nuns and Buddhists a peaceful Buddha's birthday; at the same time, he hoped that in the coming time, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in the province would continue to promote its role as a bridge, encouraging Buddhists to be exemplary in fulfilling their civic duties, joining hands to build and consolidate the great national unity bloc, and taking the best care of the material and spiritual lives of Buddhists.
