On the morning of August 20, the People's Committee of Van Ban commune said that the commune had just received from the family of Mr. Nguyen Huu Long (57 years old, Go Muoi area, Van Ban commune) antiques including 2 bronze drums, 1 square-headed axe, 1 bronze container to hand over to the representative of the Phu Tho Provincial Museum.
Antiques found by Mr. Long's family
Mr. Nguyen Huu Long said that while gardening, his family discovered and dug up some bronze tools lying deep under the soil in the garden. Judging that these might be ancient artifacts, Mr. Long immediately reported to the People's Committee of Van Ban Commune. After a preliminary inspection, the People's Committee of Van Ban Commune invited representatives of the Phu Tho Provincial Museum to evaluate and appraise them.

Through initial research and survey, the leaders of Phu Tho Provincial Museum said that these bronze tools date back to the Dong Son culture, dating back over 2,500 years. These are very valuable antiques, the reporting and handover of antiques by Mr. Nguyen Huu Long's family is very valuable and should be promptly commended. The provincial museum will receive, preserve and display them, helping the public to access and learn about the history and culture of the nation.
