At Hoa Lac Airport ( Hanoi ), the Air Defense - Air Force Technical Institute coordinated with Helicopter Regiments 916, 917 and 930 to organize acceptance tests and hang the Party and National flags in preparation for the 80th National Day Celebration on September 2.
The flight formation consisted of 10 Mi-8 and Mi-17 helicopters of Regiment 916 (Division 371), coordinating with forces from Regiment 917 (Division 370) and Regiment 930 (Division 372) flying in a 1-3-3-3 formation.
The weather was clear and favorable for training. The Party and national flags fluttered under the helicopter blades in the sky near Hoa Lac airport, creating a heroic scene.
The formation strictly adhered to regulations on distance, altitude, speed and coordinated closely with ground forces to align the flight path in sync with the parade formation in the next few days.
The flight crews also checked coordination, the quality of flag-raising equipment and technical systems.
This is one of the highlight performances, carrying deep symbolic meaning in the parade formation at Ba Dinh Square on September 2.
On September 2, the flag raising ceremony across Ba Dinh Square will open the parade of armed forces and the masses, becoming a highlight with sacred symbolic meaning, affirming the strength and national spirit in the great festival of the country.
Before that, to facilitate the take-off, the Mi-171 helicopter with registration number SAR 04 performed a meteorological reconnaissance flight, ensuring absolute safety.
