On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day,President Luong Cuong decided to award the Military Exploit Order and the Fatherland Protection Order to 34 senior officers of the Vietnam People's Army with outstanding achievements in the cause of building the army, strengthening national defense and protecting the Fatherland.
This afternoon, December 13, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense held a handover ceremony, chaired by General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense.
General Phan Van Giang awarded the Third Class Military Exploit Order to 10 leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff, and the General Department of Politics.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense, and Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, awarded the Fatherland Protection Medal, first, second and third class, to 23 commanding officers of agencies and units.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior General Phan Van Giang, on behalf of the Central Military Commission, leaders of the Ministry of National Defense and officers and soldiers of the entire army, warmly congratulated the 34 senior officers who received medals on this occasion.
General Phan Van Giang affirmed that this is a noble award of the Party and State, demonstrating the care, trust, encouragement, and recognition of the merits and achievements of high-ranking officers of the Vietnam People's Army. It is a great honor for the officers receiving the medals and also a common joy for the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and officers and soldiers of the entire army.
"High-ranking officers in the army are always the "core" of the core in carrying out the tasks that the Party, State and people trust and assign to the army.
Receiving the honor is also a great responsibility. I believe that the comrades receiving the medal will continue to uphold their bravery, promote their intelligence, solidarity, be exemplary, and be especially exemplary, truly setting an example of constant striving," General Phan Van Giang emphasized.
General Phan Van Giang also hopes that the cadres receiving medals on this occasion will constantly strive to improve themselves to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation, contributing worthily to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and our people in the new era - the era of national growth.
