According to Mr. Tran Hong Tien, the area where the tourist was bitten by a monkey is outside the Mui Dien tourist area. After receiving the information, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism worked with local leaders to determine the cause and decide on a course of action. At the same time, they warned tourists and residents to avoid causing panic.
According to a report from Phu Yen General Hospital, in the two days from April 28th to 29th, five tourists who had been bitten by monkeys were admitted. All patients arrived at the hospital conscious and able to communicate. After admission, the hospital conducted examinations, classified and assessed the severity of the injuries, treated the wounds, advised on the risk of rabies, and implemented post-exposure prophylaxis measures according to each patient's specific condition.

According to Phu Yen General Hospital, of the five cases of monkey bites, three people had multiple wounds, extensive damage, and a risk of infection and rabies exposure.
These cases received anti-rabies serum as professionally indicated; they were also advised to continue monitoring, follow-up appointments, complete rabies vaccination according to schedule, and to monitor for any abnormal signs after exposure.
