Than Uyen Commune Party Committee successfully organized the 1st Congress

Than Uyen Commune Party Committee was established on the basis of merging 4 Party Committees: Muong Than, Hua Na, Muong Cang communes and Than Uyen town (old). The Party Committee currently has 65 Party cells with 1,528 Party members.

In the 2020 - 2025 term, the Party Committee and the people of all ethnic groups in the commune have overcome difficulties, focused on leadership and direction, resolutely and synchronously in all areas, most of the main targets have been achieved and exceeded. Notably, the average income per capita reached 52 million VND, the commune has completed 14/19 criteria for an advanced new rural commune. The whole commune has 33 OCOP products. The poverty rate has decreased by an average of 3.81% per year, and is expected to be 5% by the end of 2025. The commune has eliminated 91 temporary and dilapidated houses, contributing to changing the face of the countryside and improving people's lives.

The work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system has been carried out with attention. Since the beginning of the term, 123 new Party members have been admitted; on average, over 90% of grassroots Party organizations and Party members have fulfilled their tasks well or better each year.

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Responsibility - Creativity - Development", for the 2025 - 2030 term, Than Uyen Commune Party Committee unanimously set out 16 main targets, 6 key tasks and 3 breakthroughs.

The Party Committee of the commune continues to strengthen the building and rectification of the Party and the political system to be streamlined, clean, strong, and comprehensive, operating effectively, efficiently, and effectively. Promote investment attraction, application of science and technology and innovation, digital transformation to improve productivity, quality, and competitiveness, towards green and sustainable development. Restructure the rural and agricultural economy towards the application of high technology and agricultural product processing. Along with that, strengthen the expansion of intra-regional and inter-regional linkages and cooperation to attract investment, promote cultural - economic - tourism exchanges. Strive by 2030, the commune will meet the advanced new rural standards, complete the criteria for type IV urban areas, and be a leading commune in the province.

Speaking at the Congress, comrade Le Van Luong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee congratulated the achievements of the Party Committee, government and people of Than Uyen commune in the past term. To turn Than Uyen into an advanced new rural commune and be in the leading group of the province, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Party Committee and government of the commune to urgently lead and direct the general planning work of the commune in the direction of inheriting the planning of Than Uyen district, urban planning of Than Uyen town before the merger and consolidation. Clearly orient the development of industries and fields, develop a connecting traffic system, create development momentum, and regional linkage. At the same time, promote the restructuring of the agricultural sector associated with the application of high technology, develop smart agriculture, and concentrate commodity production; form typical OCOP products, and build the brand of Than Uyen agricultural products. Strongly develop community services and tourism associated with preserving national cultural identity; encourage start-ups, innovation, etc.

The Congress announced the Decision of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on appointing the Executive Committee of 32 comrades, the Standing Committee of 11 comrades; Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Commune Party Committee; Decision to appoint the Inspection Committee of 4 comrades; Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Commune Party Committee for the first term, 2025 - 2030; Decision to have a Delegation of the Commune Party Committee to attend the 15th Provincial Party Congress of 7 comrades and voted to pass the Resolution of the Congress. Comrade Pham Hong Thai was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Than Uyen Commune Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term.

Previously, at the preparatory session of the Congress, the Congress Delegation offered incense at the Cultural House of the historical relic site of Luot village, Muong Kim commune - the first Party cell of Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee and visited the Martyrs Cemetery of Than Uyen commune./.
