These are "Automatic gate delivery system - Smart Gate" by the group of authors from the Information Technology Center and "Simulation software for calculating wharf plans" by the group of authors from the Business Department, both belonging to Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company.
The "Smart Gate Automatic Gate Delivery System" deployed at Tan Vu Port Branch since May 2023 is integrated with many modern technology solutions such as: Container code recognition; license plate recognition of tractors and trailers; taking photos, storing images of container surfaces; integrating with container operation management software (PL-TOS), electronic port system (ePort) and Container Checker app; sensor system to control automatic opening and closing of barriers after completing procedures and sending delivery information via electronic display board at the gate and app for drivers (Container Driver) on the driver's phone... This is also the final step to complete the software ecosystem in operations at Hai Phong Port including: (1) Operation management software system (TOS) used to operate operations at the port; (2) Electronic port service software - ePort allows customers to issue online orders; (3) Smart Gate automatic gate delivery system. The applied solution helps increase convenience and service quality for customers, contributing to maintaining and creating competitive advantages for the Port.
The software "Simulation of wharf planning calculation" was designed by a group of staff from the Business Department, Hai Phong Port on a graphical interface using Python's Tkinter library to simulate the entire diagram of Tan Vu and Chua Ve wharfs with all the elements: wharf length, location of wire flanges, electrical cabinets, shore cranes (QC, TK), and especially the function of creating ships with parameters such as name, total tonnage, and actual length. After being created, ships can be dragged and dropped visually on the wharf map to check the appropriate wharf location. At the same time, the software also displays the ship's bow and steering markers, helping users easily determine the appropriate anchor point. In addition, the location and operating range of each crane are also fully simulated, ensuring authenticity with actual operating conditions. This initiative helps to improve the accuracy, science and intuition in wharf planning, contributing to increasing operating efficiency, especially in conditions where many ships are operating at the same time.
