VHO - On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the recognition of Ví and Giặm folk songs by UNESCO, before the opening ceremony, the Organizing Committee held a flower and incense offering ceremony and reported on achievements in commemoration of President Ho Chi Minh at Ho Chi Minh Square.

On the afternoon of November 23, 2024, prior to the ceremony commemorating the 10th anniversary of the UNESCO inscription of Ví and Giặm folk songs and the opening of the exhibition "Colors of Vietnamese Cultural Heritage, Nature and Traditional Handicrafts," the Organizing Committee held a flower and incense offering ceremony in remembrance of President Ho Chi Minh at Ho Chi Minh Square, expressing profound respect and boundless gratitude for his immense contributions.

President Ho Chi Minh, the brilliant leader of our Party and our people, not only left our nation a great revolutionary cause but also a precious legacy for our Party and the entire nation: a shining example of noble moral qualities, a lifetime of selfless sacrifice and struggle for the country and the happiness of the people.

President Ho Chi Minh has passed away, but his great achievements and noble example will live forever with the Vietnamese nation. Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style will always be the ideological foundation and guiding principle for all actions, illuminating the path for the Vietnamese revolution to achieve one victory after another.

During his lifetime, despite the busy work of the Party and the State, our beloved President Ho Chi Minh still devoted his precious time to the folk songs of his homeland, Ví and Giặm. Before his passing, he wished that future generations would cherish these folk songs and preserve the national cultural identity.

Fulfilling the wishes of President Ho Chi Minh, with the attention of the Central Ministries, Departments, and Agencies; and the determination and responsibility of the Nghe An provincial authorities, in 2014, the Ví and Giặm folk songs of Nghe Tinh were inscribed by UNESCO as a Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Ví and Giặm folk songs have affirmed and continue to affirm profound humanistic values ​​and will forever preserve the rhythm of life, the soul of the homeland, and the character of the beloved people of Nghe An. The beautiful values ​​of this national cultural heritage are being carefully preserved and promoted.

Before the revered spirit of President Ho Chi Minh, the delegation pledged to continuously strive, cultivate, train, study, and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style; preserve and spread the value of the Ví and Giặm folk songs in particular and the traditional cultural heritage of the nation in general; unite, cooperate, and be creative to develop Nghe An province strongly, and soon become a prosperous province of the country as President Ho Chi Minh wished during his lifetime.
