Full vehicle registration process for imported vehicles from January 1, 2025.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - According to the Traffic Police Department, the online registration process for imported vehicles will continue to bring convenience and positive results for citizens during the process.

On the afternoon of December 11th, the Traffic Police Department ( Ministry of Public Security ) announced that, starting from January 1st, 2025, Vietnamese citizens with level 2 identification accounts will be able to register imported vehicles in full.

According to the Traffic Police Department, this is a policy to simplify administrative procedures in the field of vehicle registration as much as possible; the online registration process for imported vehicles will continue to bring convenience and positive efficiency to people during the process.

Specifically, people can register and get license plates online at any time, and do not have to bring their vehicles to the vehicle registration office for physical inspection. The procedure is quick and efficient, saving time and travel costs.

The Traffic Police Department stated that implementing this requires coordination and connection of numerous data systems from various ministries and agencies, as well as changes in implementation methods.

In addition, businesses importing vehicles must provide a scanned copy of the engine number and chassis number, stamped with the company's seal, and affixed to the back of the technical safety and environmental protection certificate.

"During the implementation process, the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security directed the intensification of widespread dissemination through mass media so that people could understand and access the new regulations on vehicle registration."

"At the same time, we have directed the Traffic Police Department and the Ministry of Public Security's Public Service Portal to strengthen guidance at vehicle registration points, in order to promptly guide citizens and vehicle registration officers in carrying out the procedures," the Traffic Police Department informed.

On July 18, 2024, Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang signed Decision No. 5287/QD-BCA announcing newly issued administrative procedures in the field of registration and management of road motor vehicles under the authority of the Ministry of Public Security.

The announcement accompanying this Decision outlines the new administrative procedure for initial vehicle registration using a full-process online public service for domestically manufactured and assembled vehicles.

The procedure for registering a vehicle for the first time using the online public service for domestically manufactured and assembled vehicles consists of 7 steps.
