Party - Spring

BT - Every year, as Tet (Lunar New Year) approaches, our entire nation joyfully welcomes a new year and, along with it, celebrates a momentous event in our national history: the anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Eighty-six years ago, on February 3rd, 1930, in the spring of the Year of the Horse, the Communist Party of Vietnam was born. This coincidence, though seemingly random, is truly significant; it was a choice governed by historical principles and laws, from which the Party's will and the people's aspirations became invincible weapons, for the shining ideal that "nothing is more precious than independence and freedom," bringing an endless spring to the nation.

From its very inception, the Party became the leader and organizer of the Vietnamese revolution. For the past 86 years, under the Party's banner, our country and our people have overcome countless challenges, achieving one victory after another, and creating numerous glorious and brilliant miracles. At fifteen years old, the Party led the victorious August Revolution of 1945, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and ushering in a new era of national development – ​​the era of independence, freedom, and socialism. The Party led the people in the sacred resistance war against French colonialism, culminating in the historic Dien Bien Phu victory, "renowned throughout the world and shaking the earth," liberating half the country and advancing towards socialism. Under the Party's leadership, for over 20 years, the entire nation bravely fought to "drive out the Americans and overthrow the puppet regime," culminating in the great Spring Victory of 1975, reuniting our beloved country and moving forward towards socialism.

After 30 years of implementing the Doi Moi (Renovation) policy, under the leadership of the Party, the Vietnamese revolution has affirmed the correctness of its path in the general trend of the times. We are entering the 86th spring of the Party, and although there are still many difficulties and challenges, the achievements that our country has gained are truly great and extremely meaningful. From a country devastated by war, poor and backward, Vietnam has rapidly risen to the middle-income level of the world with an average income of over 2,200 USD per person. The economy has continuously grown at a high rate, averaging 7% over the past 20 years. Particularly in 2015, the final year of the socio-economic development plan, Vietnam had one of the highest economic growth rates in the world at 6.68%; inflation fell below 1%, the lowest in the last 14 years. Vietnam has risen 12 places in the global competitiveness ranking, now standing at 56th out of 140 countries, the strongest increase compared to a year ago on the WEF ranking. Vietnam has nearly achieved eight Millennium Development Goals, a feat few countries globally have accomplished, including significant achievements such as a substantial reduction in poverty and a high increase in school enrollment rates. Thanks to continuous socio-economic development, strong national defense and security, improved living standards for the people, and dynamic and independent foreign relations, Vietnam's position and prestige in the international and regional arenas are increasingly consolidated and elevated to new heights. The important thing behind the above figures is the optimism and belief in the bright future path that the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and our people have chosen, which is being and continues to be firmly and enduringly consolidated in the hearts of every citizen who deeply loves their homeland. This becomes even more convincing and persuasive if we calmly reflect on it in the context of this turbulent world, only then can we feel even more proud of our Party.

Along with the rest of the country, the Party Committee and people of Binh Thuan have overcome many difficulties and challenges, striving to successfully implement the socio-economic tasks of the 2010-2015 five-year plan. Solutions to improve the quality of economic growth, restructure the economy in conjunction with the growth model, exploit and utilize resources, potential, and advantages for development, and ensure social security have been implemented synchronously and achieved very remarkable results. In 2015 alone, the final year of the 2011-2015 five-year socio-economic plan, the province achieved and exceeded the most targets (14 out of 15 targets), especially the GRDP growth rate of 9.32%, exceeding the plan and significantly higher than the national average. With improved infrastructure, a continuously improving and enhanced living standard for the people, and a strengthened and consolidated political system, Binh Thuan has gained new momentum and strength for faster and more sustainable development in the coming period.

In the spring of 2016, our Party celebrated its 86th anniversary, and also held its 12th National Congress, an event of special significance for the Vietnamese revolution in its new phase. The 12th Party Congress, themed "Strengthening the building of a clean and strong Party; promoting the strength of the entire nation and socialist democracy; comprehensively and synchronously accelerating the reform process; firmly protecting the Fatherland, maintaining a peaceful and stable environment; and building the foundation to soon transform our country into a modern industrialized nation," presented many new challenges. Our country is facing many new issues, with both advantages and opportunities intertwined with severe difficulties and obstacles. Cadres, Party members, and the people place high hopes on the Party's correct, strong, and appropriate decisions to capitalize on advantages, overcome difficulties, and continue to lead our country to rapid and sustainable development.

Proud of the glorious Party and the great President Ho Chi Minh, every cadre, Party member, and citizen of our beloved Vietnam, wherever they may be, should maintain unwavering faith in the Party's leadership in successfully carrying out the cause of reform and steadily advancing towards socialism. From this, we should express our patriotism through practical and concrete actions. Let each of us be a spring flower offered to the Party, filling the spring with vibrant blossoms, beautifying the country's reform and international integration, and successfully achieving the goal of a prosperous people, a strong nation, democracy, fairness, and civilization.
