Duck meat prices are low.

(CT) - Recently, the price of duck meat in the Mekong Delta has increased again by about 1,000-2,000 VND/kg, but it is still quite low. Farmers sell Cherry Valley and Grimaud ducks (raised in confinement and fed industrial feed) to traders at 34,000-39,000 VND/kg, while free-range ducks are priced at 45,000-48,000 VND/kg.

Traders are buying ducks for meat in Can Tho City.

French-hybrid Muscovy ducks (live weight) are priced at 53,000-55,000 VND/kg. The price of ducks is low due to weak demand and abundant supply. Recently, people in many areas have increased duck farming using large-scale confined farming models and industrial feed.

Striped catfish prices are rising.

(CT) - The price of striped snakehead fish in the Mekong Delta has increased by 2,000-5,000 VND/kg compared to the beginning of 2026, and by more than 10,000 VND/kg compared to the same period in 2025, reaching a relatively high level. Striped snakehead fish is currently priced at 62,000-66,000 VND/kg, while it was 50,000-55,000 VND/kg in the same period last year. The price increase is due to limited supply as people have reduced farming recently, while the demand for striped snakehead fish remains high. Not only is it consumed strongly in fresh form, but striped snakehead fish is also processed into dried fish for sale on the market.

Spotted catfish on sale

(CT) - The price of spotted snakehead fish in the Mekong Delta has decreased by 5,000-10,000 VND/kg compared to the beginning of the year and compared to the same period last year. Currently, the price of commercial fish (2-3 fish/kg) that farmers sell to traders and seafood purchasing centers is only 57,000-58,000 VND/kg. The retail price of fresh spotted snakehead fish at markets and seafood trading points is 100,000-130,000 VND/kg; spotted snakehead fish paste is 220,000-250,000 VND/kg.

Prices have fallen due to increased supply, as people in many localities have been increasing their snakehead fish farming recently, resulting in a large quantity of fish ready for sale, while export demand remains slow.
