Officers and soldiers of Military Economic Group 5 coordinated with mass organizations to support rice harvesting for people in the stationed area.
The 5th Military Economic Group is stationed in 5 communes in the project area, including the communes of Muong Lat, Pu Nhi, Tam Chung, Quang Chieu, and Muong Chanh. From practice, the cadres and soldiers of the 5th Military Economic Group always stick to the grassroots, "eat, live, and work with the people", properly implementing the motto "listen to the people, speak so that the people understand, and do so that the people trust", through programs, projects, good models, creative ways of doing things, imprinting the efforts and intelligence of the soldiers, thereby leaving a good impression, having a wide spread, having profound political - social and humane significance, recognized and highly appreciated by local Party committees and authorities.
Accordingly, the unit has deployed the construction of models of cultivation and livestock breeding in the communes of the project area; coordinated with the locality to provide native cows, goats and pigs for poor households to develop the economy , gradually escape poverty; promoted propaganda, dissemination and guidance of livestock and crop breeding techniques, changing the thinking and working methods of the people; at the same time, sent working groups to coordinate with young volunteer intellectuals to the villages and hamlets, helping people develop the economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty... Typically, the group has built models of breeding native pigs, with 40 mother sows, providing more than 600 breeding pigs to the people in the project area each year; models of raising freshwater fish, snails, frogs, Dong Cao chickens, commercial rabbits; built 8 models of cultivation and livestock breeding according to the model of "Raising native black pigs", "Raising crossbred cows for reproduction"... for 148 households in Muong Chanh commune; Support 225 breeding cows, 135 breeding buffaloes...
Through economic models, the project has contributed to promoting socio-economic development, increasing people's income, and reducing the poverty rate from 54.47% to 28.36%.
Along with guiding people to develop the economy, the unit also actively propagates the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws to the people, especially people in remote areas who are often taken advantage of by bad guys to illegally spread religion, and backward customs still cling to them, so the construction of cultural life in residential areas is of great concern to the 5th Military Economic Group. In the last 3 months of 2024 alone, the unit organized 16 sessions of mobilization, propaganda and legaleducation for more than 1,200 participants; distributed more than 550 leaflets; 8 sessions of direct propaganda to 43 households on the Party and State's ethnic and religious policies and policies; Law on Marriage and Family; Law on Drug Prevention and Control... Organized guidance for 68 households on accommodation, living, and building a cultural lifestyle; Organized 2 cultural exchange sessions, traditional film screenings at Poong village, Tam Chung commune; Doan Ket neighborhood, Muong Lat commune...
In addition, the 5th Military Economic Group also focuses on investing in infrastructure construction such as roads, irrigation works, electricity, domestic water, and building cultural houses in villages and hamlets... In 2024, with capital from the Ministry of National Defense, the group focused on building 4 cultural houses in villages in 2 communes of Quang Chieu and Muong Chanh; building dams and canals in Can - Tan Huong village, Tam Chung commune; traffic roads in Pa Den - Hua Pu village, Pu Nhi commune; traffic roads in Quan Dao village - Poong village, Quang Chieu commune... In practice, the programs and projects, when completed and put into use, have been effective, contributing to stabilizing the population, eliminating hunger, reducing poverty, maintaining political security and social order and safety in the border areas of the Fatherland.
With practical and effective actions, Military Economic Group 5 has left a good impression in the hearts of the people in many projects and tasks, contributing to building a solid "people's heart position" on the border. In the period of 2019-2024, Military Economic Group 5 was awarded the "Ministry of National Defense Emulation Flag", "Military Region Emulation Flag", "Determined to Win Unit"; 5 collectives and 3 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Minister of National Defense; 10 collectives were awarded the title "Determined to Win Unit"; many individuals were awarded the title "Basic Emulation Fighter" and many other noble awards...
Continuing the achievements, in the coming time, with the theme "Solidarity - Creativity - Determination to Win", Military Economic Group 5 sets out a number of specific tasks to serve as a guideline for action, namely: Continuing to seriously and effectively implement President Ho Chi Minh's teachings on "Patriotic emulation"; well implementing the goals and tasks of building Muong Lat Military Economic Zone; improving the quality of training, combat readiness, building discipline, and enforcing discipline in depth and firmly; effectively implementing projects under the National Target Program on socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2030 and the Project "Improving the quality and effectiveness of mass mobilization work in special areas of the military region's armed forces, period 2023-2030"...
