NDO - As the newest walking street to be established in Hanoi, Ngoc Khanh walking street (in Ngoc Khanh ward, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi) continues to implement a number of activities to promote its image and attract more participants.
After nearly 2 months of operation (from October 10), Ngoc Khanh Lake walking street continues to be organized by management units to promote its image and attract people.
Ngoc Khanh Lake Walking Street is located in Ngoc Khanh Ward, Ba Dinh District. The Ngoc Khanh Lake - Giang Vo project is being implemented with the orientation of a service business street to attract tourists and create conditions for production and business establishments to develop.
Ngoc Khanh walking street was completed to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation Day of the Capital (October 10), designed according to the idea of Giang Vo Truong, an area for practicing martial arts, teaching military tactics, and performing high-level military exercises of feudal dynasties in the ancient Thang Long citadel.
During the days the walking street is open, visitors will park their vehicles at the beginning of Pham Huy Thong Street.
One of the activities implemented to attract visitors in recent times is the "Consumer promotion week to stimulate consumption on Ngoc Khanh - Giang Vo Truong walking street".
The exhibition program displays and connects consumption of agricultural products, regional specialties, processed foods, traditional craft village products, green technology products, and other consumer products of Hanoi and other provinces and cities across the country.
The items on sale at the program are all aimed at stimulating consumption and the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese products".
This activity also creates opportunities for businesses and production establishments to widely promote agricultural products, processed foods, OCOP products, handicraft products, and typical traditional craft villages of Hanoi and other provinces and cities; linking tourism promotion, contributing to enhancing brand value and preserving the value of traditional craft villages.
The booth area displays, sells and introduces potential products, typical products, handicraft products, craft village products, OCOP products such as green rice, Ba Vi milk, rubber tire sandals, etc.
In the programs organized in this newly formed walking street area, besides the purpose of attracting people and visitors to the area, we also hope to support businesses and production facilities trading in Vietnamese goods to promote their brands, stimulate consumption, find business partners and expand their distribution systems.
Ngoc Khanh Lake walking street will start operating from October 10, 2024.
Open from 6pm - 10pm on Friday and 7am - 10pm on Saturday and Sunday every week.
Goods displayed and introduced at the event are goods of Vietnamese origin, prioritizing OCOP products from Ba Dinh district, Hanoi and provinces across the country.
Units participating in the booth must have sufficient business conditions and fully comply with the provisions of the law of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and goods must have clear origin.
Mr. Duong Van Tinh, 73 years old, a resident near Ngoc Khanh walking street shared: " I feel that the locality opened this walking street very useful, people have a place to walk comfortably, adding activities like OCOP fair is also useful. If it can be done long-term, the streets will be more fun and people will also find it convenient to buy and sell."
Mr. Tinh also shared that normally he and the locals often walk around the lake, however, the surrounding shops have many vehicles, so it is somewhat inconvenient. Therefore, ensuring sales areas and common spaces for the community is something that the locals really want.

According to visitors' reviews, the prices of items here are moderate, in line with the criteria of "market stabilization".
The activity also aims to honor and highlight the value of traditional handicraft products, specialty products across the country, and unique OCOP products.
In the coming time, the locality will continue to promote the implementation of programs to connect trade and consume products at the grassroots level with provinces and cities across the country to increase the commercial value of the walking street area and the overall socio-economic development goals.
