Regarding the positive outcomes of the working sessions and talks between the delegation of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces and the leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense , Lieutenant General Roberto Legrá Sotolongo stated that the two sides shared, discussed, and agreed on areas of cooperation. This further deepens the traditional special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba.
President Vo Van Thuong received Roberto Legrá Sotolongo, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba.
President Vo Van Thuong emphasized that the people of Vietnam and Cuba have always been united, sharing difficulties during various stages of the revolution; caring for and encouraging each other to overcome challenges. The Party, State, and people of Vietnam are pleased with the special solidarity and the substantive development of cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba in many fields.
To further build upon the achievements, President Vo Van Thuong suggested that, in addition to strengthening high-level exchanges, both sides should promote exchanges and cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence and the Cuban Ministry of Revolutionary Armed Forces; and further boost economic , trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries, thereby creating an important material and logistical foundation to serve the national construction and defense tasks of each country…
According to the President, the armies of the two countries need to share experiences in labor and production to train and develop officers and soldiers. This is one of the key tasks that the Vietnam People's Army has performed very well in recent times.
