Promoting digitalization of the medical industry, implementing electronic medical records on schedule

On the morning of May 15, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Tat Thang had a working session with MobiFone Global Technology Joint Stock Company (under Mobifone Telecommunications Corporation) on cooperation plans in the field of digital healthcare. Also attending were leaders of a number of departments and branches.

At the meeting, representatives of MobiFone Global Technology Joint Stock Company (MobiFone Global) presented a report on the healthcare data coordination system with contents such as: system objectives, coordination system deployment diagram, data center model and benefits the system brings to people, hospitals, the Ministry of Health and the Government.

Accordingly, the system's goal is to create and connect data on electronic health records, electronic medical records, re-examination appointment papers and referral papers through the health sector's data coordination center system; help people monitor their own electronic health records and share health records for health workers to exploit and use. At the same time, build a data analysis tool to serve the Ministry of Health in health management, monitoring, and forecasting indicators, in order to develop appropriate health policies.

MobiFone Global also introduced the plan to deploy independent EMR electronic medical records and connect medical records according to Project 06; digital transformation products and services suitable for professional activities in the medical field. The business also proposed a 3-step basic solution to deploy electronic medical records and connect to the GMedical portal according to Project 06; proposed 3 phases to help deploy EMR electronic medical records to the finish line before September 30, 2025 according to the Government's direction.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed digital transformation solutions in the healthcare sector such as: application of technology platforms, data storage infrastructure, digital record solutions, solutions to solve data interconnection problems, plans to deploy electronic medical records in the near future...

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Tat Thang emphasized the policies and directions of the Government and the Ministry of Health and the importance of applying information technology and digital transformation in health sector activities, especially the implementation of electronic medical records to be completed before September 30, 2025.

In order to implement digital transformation solutions quickly, in accordance with regulations, and in accordance with financial and human resources, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Health, the Department of Science and Technology and related units to continue researching and proposing appropriate implementation solutions to implement the digital transformation roadmap in the health sector, meeting the time according to the Government's direction, creating convenience for people to examine and treat diseases.
