Delegates attending the workshop
In his opening remarks at the workshop, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Long Hai emphasized that tourism in Quang Tri and Central Vietnam has been making a significant contribution to job creation and economic restructuring, promoting economic growth, improving people's lives, preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups and local traditions, and ensuring foreign relations and national security.
However, in reality, many shortcomings remain. Sustainable tourism development is a long-term process requiring strategic vision, perseverance, and concerted efforts from many parties: the government, businesses, the community, and tourists. Therefore, this workshop is a practical step to gather wisdom and experience to find the most suitable path for sustainable tourism development in Quang Tri and other central provinces.
Nguyen Long Hai, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee, delivered the opening remarks at the workshop.
At the workshop, delegates presented numerous papers, participated in panel discussions, and contributed ideas to develop tourism in Quang Tri province and other provinces in the Central region into a leading and sustainable economic sector. The discussions focused on several key issues, including: tourism development orientation in the context of globalization and climate change; the role of digital transformation in sustainable tourism development; policies to support local tourism businesses in green transformation; positioning the Quang Binh tourism brand within a sustainable development strategy; and preserving and exploiting the folk cultural values of ethnic minorities in community-based tourism development in the Central region.
Professor Dr. Le Van Loi, Vice Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, closed the workshop.
In his closing remarks at the workshop, Professor Dr. Le Van Loi, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, affirmed that sustainable tourism development in the current context is both an urgent and long-term strategic topic.
The insightful, responsible, and dedicated discussions and opinions of delegates, scientists, experts, and businesses at the workshop are hoped to contribute to helping Quang Tri and other provinces in the Central region refine their planning, policies, investments, and human resource training for the coming period, creating real changes and moving towards building a green, smart, and sustainable tourism industry.
On this occasion, the workshop organizers also presented 20 gifts to relatives of fallen soldiers' families facing difficult circumstances in Dong Hoi, Dong Thuan, and Dong Son wards.
