It was just past 9 a.m. (May 26th), but the outdoor temperature at the construction site of the coastal road project in Sen Ngu commune had already reached 39 degrees Celsius. Under the scorching sun, engineers, workers, and machinery continued to operate continuously to accelerate construction, determined to bring the project to completion on schedule.
According to Nguyen Chi Phuong, the project manager for package XL-06 (Truong Thinh Group Joint Stock Company), despite the hot weather, the unit is still focusing on completing the paving of fine-grained asphalt concrete on many sections of package XL-06, which are over 21km long and run through the two communes of Cam Hong and Sen Ngu.
“Working outdoors in the prolonged heat makes construction conditions even more challenging. In addition to personal protective equipment, many of the company's workers also have to wear cooling vests and drink plenty of water to maintain their health. Despite the hardship, the atmosphere on the construction site remains urgent…,” Mr. Nguyen Chi Phuong informed.
As a machine operator with many years of experience working on several key projects in the province, Mr. Nguyen Duc Luc (Truong Thinh Group Joint Stock Company) said that despite the hot weather over the past few days, he and his fellow workers have remained at the construction site to strive to complete the project on schedule.

“These days the outdoor temperature is between 38-40 degrees Celsius, but we workers are still maintaining our regular work schedule, trying to overcome difficulties to ensure the project stays on track. Everyone proactively prepares drinking water, protective equipment, and takes care of their health while working outdoors…,” Mr. Nguyen Duc Luc shared.
According to Nguyen Chi Phuong, the project manager for package XL-06 (Truong Thinh Group Joint Stock Company), after receiving the site, the unit mobilized maximum manpower and machinery, organized overtime shifts, and worked day and night to catch up on the progress. Despite the high cost of construction materials, the unit maintained continuous construction; at the same time, it increased compensation to encourage workers to stay on the construction site even in harsh weather conditions…
“Despite the extremely harsh weather, with temperatures reaching nearly 40 degrees Celsius at times, the unit's officials, engineers, and workers are still striving to stay on the construction site to complete the task. The unit is working overtime and in shifts to accelerate progress and contribute to the disbursement of public investment funds. Currently, there are still about 700 meters of land that have not been handed over, and we hope the local authorities will continue to support the unit so that it can implement the entire project simultaneously…,” Mr. Nguyen Chi Phuong said.
