At the four examination locations, including Vo Nguyen Giap Specialized High School, Le Quy Don Specialized High School, Dong Phu Secondary School (Dong Hoi Ward), and Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School (Nam Dong Ha Ward), a large number of parents waited for their children in front of the school gates despite the very hot weather.

For them, the exam is not just a competition to win a place in school, but also an opportunity for students to learn, grow, and gain more experience. Police, medical personnel, and youth union members participating in the "Exam Support Campaign" are constantly on standby to assist candidates and parents when needed.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, from Hoan Lao commune, said that her family always tries to create the best conditions for her child's studies and exam preparation. Throughout many years of schooling, her child has consistently achieved high grades, so the family has high hopes that she can be admitted to Vo Nguyen Giap Specialized High School. However, what she cares about most is her child's mental well-being and personal growth.

"My family always encourages my child to try their best, viewing the exam as an experience in their student life. Getting into a specialized school would be great, but if they don't achieve the desired results, there are still many other suitable learning environments. What I hope for most is that my child studies and trains to become a decent person," Ms. Thuy shared.

Sharing the same anxious sentiment, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung from Le Ninh commune, whose child is taking the entrance exam for Vo Nguyen Giap Specialized High School, said that despite the hot weather, thanks to the enthusiastic support of the authorities and volunteers, parents feel much more at ease.

To ensure the best conditions for candidates, the examination boards have made thorough preparations, including providing drinking water and medicine, and regularly monitoring students' health and providing psychological support throughout the examination period. In particular, Vo Nguyen Giap Specialized High School has arranged rest rooms in its dormitory for parents from distant areas who bring their children to take the exam at the examination centers.

The exam is highly selective.

For many students, taking the entrance exam to a specialized school is not simply a transfer exam but also a milestone to affirm their abilities. Many students have developed study plans since their early years of junior high school, dedicating significant time to pursuing their favorite subjects and persistently preparing to reach their dream school.

Pham Thuy Duong, a student taking the exam at Dong Phu Secondary School, said: "This year's entrance exam for the specialized Literature program was quite good and offered ample opportunity for candidates to demonstrate their ability to appreciate and analyze literature. In particular, the essay section related to the poem 'Memories of Childhood' by Tran Dinh Tho was very interesting to me. The exam was highly thought-provoking, giving students who love literature a chance to showcase their abilities. I am quite confident in my results because I tried my best."

Student Tra Minh Chau, a candidate from Le Quy Don Specialized High School, commented that this year's math exam was relatively difficult, especially in geometry and algebra, requiring students to have good thinking skills and the ability to apply knowledge. She had spent a lot of time studying and hoped to achieve the desired results.

Choosing Chemistry as her specialized subject, Nguyen Ha Chau, from Tan Lien commune, assessed the exam as not too difficult but highly differentiating, especially focusing on organic chemistry. Regarding English, Nguyen Hoang Thao Nguyen, from Cua Tung commune, said that this year's exam was more difficult than last year's, requiring students to have a broad general knowledge base.

In the English speaking section, many candidates performed quite well. Truong Hoai Minh, a candidate at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, shared: "Each candidate had a different topic. For the topic about someone who inspires me, I introduced my mother. In my opinion, this wasn't just an exam, but an opportunity to share my thoughts and feelings, so I spoke fluently. I hope this speaking test will be a plus point for my English proficiency test today."

As the final exam concluded, some students left the examination room with radiant smiles and hopeful eyes, while many others shed tears because they couldn't perform to the best of their ability...
