The Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025 is approaching, at this time, shopping malls, supermarkets, convenience stores and traditional markets are flooded with goods from high-end to popular. Notably, Vietnamese goods are dominating the market, thanks to diverse designs and good product quality.
For about 2 months now, supermarkets, convenience stores, and traditional markets in the province have displayed all kinds of goods to serve people's shopping needs at the end of the year.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, the amount of goods reserved this year increased by 10-30% compared to last year, well meeting people's shopping needs during Tet. Local businesses have proactively reserved goods, especially essential items such as food and consumer goods, ensuring quality and origin. OCOP products and typical rural industrial products of the province are also given priority to display and sell in separate areas in supermarkets to support and promote the local economy .

To help Vietnamese goods dominate the Tet market, the Provincial People's Committee has directed relevant agencies to focus on implementing measures to stabilize the market, combat smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. Strictly handle violations of speculation, hoarding, transporting smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin, counterfeit goods and poor quality goods.
Resolutely implement trade promotion activities, the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", the program to bring Vietnamese goods to rural areas, industrial zones and clusters combined with fairs, promotions, discounts and consumer stimulus programs.
Encourage businesses to bring goods to rural areas for sale to provide early and adequate supply to consumers in these areas at reasonable prices and guaranteed quality.
Through research at supermarkets, convenience stores and traditional markets in the province, most of the essential goods serving the Tet market such as candy, alcohol, soft drinks, food and food are mainly Vietnamese goods. In particular, this year's goods have more diverse designs and prices suitable for consumers' financial situation.
Mr. Nguyen Ba Quyen, Director of Tata Mart supermarket chain, said: Since mid-November 2024, the unit has imported essential goods and gift baskets to serve the consumption needs of people during the Lunar New Year 2025. The product structure of the entire supermarket system is over 90% Vietnamese goods. In particular, on this occasion, the supermarket also imported OCOP products from localities to introduce to customers to promote typical products in the area.
To facilitate customers, the supermarket has arranged more staff to serve sales. Along with that, it has expanded its business methods and payment methods, and home delivery to facilitate customers, without having to wait to pay during peak shopping times.
At GO! Vinh Phuc Supermarket, to ensure the supply of goods to serve consumers at the end of the year, the unit signed contracts with domestic suppliers early, committing to keep the selling price as per the signed contract. Therefore, the supermarket always has an abundant supply of goods, can ensure a 150% increase in supply compared to normal days and commits not to increase the price of goods during this time.
In addition, the supermarket has launched many attractive promotional programs to stimulate shopping such as up to 22% discount on Tet gift boxes/baskets; applying a program of no price increase during Tet for more than 10 thousand fast-moving consumer goods products...
Promotional programs at supermarkets are mostly Vietnamese products that are carefully invested in by the unit, not only creating diversity for the most exciting shopping occasion of the year, but also contributing to connecting the community, connecting traditional values to promote the motto "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese products".
In traditional markets in the area, Vietnamese goods also dominate because the design and quality of products are not much inferior to foreign goods, but the prices are affordable.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Tich Son Ward (Vinh Yen) said: In recent years, the consumption of high-end confectionery products produced domestically has dominated over imported confectionery products because the quality is not inferior and the price is only half of foreign goods. Therefore, I and many other consumers prioritize choosing Vietnamese products during this Tet holiday.
