It must be acknowledged that 2025 will be a busy year for the Provincial Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Center, with a series of projects carried over from 2024 and new ones started, much to the anticipation of the people. Most of these projects involve upgrading and expanding pipelines or building booster pump stations. This also means that people in neighboring villages who have long wished for cool, clean tap water but couldn't reach their homes due to high costs or insufficient water supply will find that 2025 is gradually becoming a reality.
The image of people in Duc Linh commune busily connecting to the water supply system, as the expansion project of the water pipeline to Vo Xu town, Vu Hoa commune, Duc Linh district (formerly) is under construction and scheduled for mid-2025, is a testament to this. Almost every household here has a well, but at that time, there was a drought, and the water level dropped significantly. Therefore, when the pipeline was built, every household eagerly prepared to connect to the water supply system, spending between 2 and 4 million VND, depending on the location.
This is also the time when some communes and wards in the southeastern part of the province have water supply systems, but some areas still experience localized water shortages. The central water treatment plants have to rotate water supply. People in some high-altitude areas have to wait for the water to rise late at night, hoping for stronger water pressure to use during the day. This is a recurring situation in the southeastern part of the province, caused not only by the weather but also by the fact that the water supply capacity of existing systems cannot meet the actual demand. Therefore, for the past 2-3 years, investment in water supply projects in this area has focused on expanding and upgrading existing facilities.
And in 2025, the construction of 14 projects, including 5 projects carried over from 2024 and 9 new projects for 2025, is a continuation of this. These include projects in the western part of Lam Dong province such as: investment in upgrading and expanding the centralized water supply system in Nhan Co commune; renovation, upgrading, and expansion of the centralized water supply system in Dak R'la commune; and a water supply model for 3 cultural centers and neighboring households in 3 communes: Nam Da, Nam Xuan, and Quang Phu.
From here, according to data from the Provincial Center for Rural Water Supply and Sanitation, the number of customers with installed water meters by the end of December 2025 will be 4,101 connections, bringing the total to 92,045 customers.
The number of customers mentioned above is still growing, as several large-scale projects are planned for completion in early 2026. Furthermore, many rural areas in the province still lack access to clean water, while many localities have yet to update their pipeline and land use plans. Therefore, the journey to ensure people have access to clean water continues under conditions requiring significant effort from the Provincial Center for Rural Water Supply and Sanitation.
The total capital plan for 2025 for the projects, with the Provincial Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Center as the investor, is over 114.6 billion VND, including 108.7 billion VND for development investment and 5.8 billion VND for operational expenses. As of December 31, 2025, the cumulative disbursement value reached 100.2 billion VND, achieving 87.48% of the plan. It is estimated that by January 31, 2026, the disbursement value will reach over 96% of the plan.
