After completing the Literature exam this morning, candidates continued to take the Math exam. These are two compulsory subjects in the new general education program in this year's exam.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training , nationwide there are nearly 1.17 million candidates registered for the exam, of which more than 1.15 million candidates took the Math exam.
The annual Math exam is designed in a multiple-choice format with a new format and structure and a 90-minute test duration.
Below is the Math exam according to the 2018 General Education Program, code 0111:

Math questions have difficult, categorical questions.
Dr. Pham Anh Tuan, a Math teacher at Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School ( Hanoi ), commented that the Math exam for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam has a structure that closely follows the knowledge matrix of the Ministry of Education and Training, including 12 multiple-choice questions with multiple answers, 4 True-False multiple-choice questions, and 6 short-answer multiple-choice questions.
In which, 12 multiple choice questions with multiple answers cover knowledge of grades 11 and 12 and are mostly in form 1, not difficult for students.
For part 4 of the True-False multiple choice questions, the questions are from the 12th grade program in form 1 and form 2. The short answer multiple choice questions cover knowledge from grades 10, 11 and 12.
In general, the exam closely followed the 2018 high school curriculum and the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training with many practical math problems closely related to life.
Specifically, in the true-false test there are 2 questions and in the short answer test there are 3 questions related to life.
The level of multiple choice questions is in form 1 and True or False questions are mostly in form 1 and 2 so students will be able to do it completely. However, the short answer questions are relatively difficult for students. The questions focus on mathematical thinking and mathematical modeling.
Teachers at Luong The Vinh School commented that the Math exam had about 3 difficult questions of a classified nature, including 2 questions on Combinations - Probability and one question on applying integration.
This exam is different from the 2024 High School Graduation exam in that the structure of the exam is new and the content of the questions is also completely different.
Students no longer encounter questions that are too heavy on calculations, but instead have to develop their thinking and modeling skills, especially with interdisciplinary questions.
Teachers predict that with 2 short answer multiple choice questions in form 3 and the remaining short answer questions being relatively difficult for students, the predicted score distribution this year will hardly change compared to last year.
