Domestic pepper prices continued to stabilize on the morning of October 14 after several sessions of slight fluctuations. The market is temporarily resting, waiting for new signals from export activities in the second half of October.
After slight increases and decreases at the beginning of the month, pepper prices in many growing areas have remained stable, reflecting the cautious sentiment of traders. Agents and businesses are temporarily holding their breath, waiting for new momentum from the export market before deciding to buy strongly again.
According to experts, during the period from October 12 to October 18, domestic pepper prices will likely fluctuate in the range of 146,000 - 152,000 VND/kg.
If large orders appear from the US, Europe or China, the price may exceed 152,500 VND/kg. On the contrary, when the supply of goods from the people is strongly released or profit-taking psychology spreads, the price may adjust to the range of 145,500 - 147,500 VND/kg.
Forecasting pepper prices in the next 30 days, analysts say the fluctuation range may widen to about 142,000 - 152,500 VND/kg.
The most likely scenario is that pepper prices will remain high or increase slightly if import demand recovers steadily. Major markets such as the US, EU and China are still considered the main driving force supporting price increases in the coming time.
