Rubber price today October 13: Maintaining green color
Rubber prices on major Asian exchanges continued to maintain an upward trend in the opening session of the week. This recovery is considered a positive signal, reflecting the market's confidence that demand for natural rubber will improve in the coming time.
In Thailand, rubber futures for November delivery rose 0.8%, or 0.57 baht, to 67.66 baht per kilogram. This is the market's consecutive increase since the beginning of October.
On the Japanese Exchange (OSE), rubber prices also increased by 0.5%, equivalent to 1.4 yen, reaching 309 yen/kg.
In China, rubber futures rose 0.2 percent, or 25 yuan, to 14,570 yuan a tonne, a slight gain that added to the positive sentiment in Asian markets amid signs of recovery in China’s auto and tire production.
Meanwhile, Japan’s Yokohama Rubber Co. (YRC) announced that it will start operating a new car tire plant in China in December. This is part of the group’s global expansion strategy to cope with fierce competition in the consumer tire industry. This move is expected to contribute to boosting demand for natural rubber imports in the Chinese market.
Domestically, the purchase price of rubber latex remains stable, reflecting the balance between supply and processing demand. At Ba Ria Rubber Company, the purchase price of liquid latex is at 415 VND/degree TSC/kg (applied to degrees TSC from 25 to under 30), DRC coagulated latex (35-44%) is at 15,000 VND/kg - an increase of 800 VND compared to before, and raw latex remains at 20,000 VND/kg.
MangYang Company recorded the purchase price of latex ranging from 398 to 403 VND/TSC depending on the type, while the price of mixed latex was at 365 - 416 VND/DRC. Phu Rieng Company also maintained the purchase price of latex at 420 VND/TSC and mixed latex at 390 VND/DRC.
At Binh Long Rubber Company, the purchase price of latex at the factory is stable at 422 VND/TSC/kg, while at the production team it is at 412 VND/TSC/kg. The price of mixed latex (DRC 60%) is currently maintained at 14,000 VND/kg.
Although the price increase is not large, the trend of maintaining green color for many consecutive sessions is bringing positive signals for the rubber industry. The international market expects tire consumption demand to continue to increase as industrial production recovers in many Asian countries. Domestically, stable prices help businesses and rubber growers maintain stable production activities, waiting for a stronger price increase in the last months of the year.
