After 10:00 AM on June 2nd, candidates at examination centers in Ho Chi Minh City completed the Mathematics exam - the final subject in the 2026-2027 public high school entrance exam.
Stepping out of the exam room after 120 minutes of testing, many students appeared excited and confident about their performance.
At the exam site at Kien Thiet Secondary School (Ban Co ward), many students lingered to discuss answers and share their thoughts on the exam with their friends.
Phi Hoang Viet Khoi, a student from Le Quy Don Secondary School (Xuan Hoa ward), said that this year's exam had a difficulty level appropriate for the students' level.
"The exam wasn't too easy, but it wasn't too difficult either. The application-based questions were designed to differentiate students, but they could still figure out the approach if they had a solid grasp of the material. I didn't find the questions to be trick questions," commented Viet Khoi.
According to Viet Khoi, he completed the exam feeling quite relaxed. His first choice is Le Quy Don High School, and his second choice is Marie Curie High School.
Sharing the same opinion, Ngo Anh Linh, a student from Kien Thiet Secondary School (Ban Co Ward), said that the exam structure was relatively familiar.
"I found this year's exam quite similar to last year's, however, the difficulty level was slightly higher in some application-based questions. There were some questions that I had to think for quite a while before finding a solution," Anh Linh shared.
Nevertheless, the female student said she had completed all the exams and expected to achieve good results in this year's entrance exam.
Ánh Linh registered Hung Vuong High School as her first choice and Nguyen An Ninh High School as her second choice.
Having completed the Math exam, candidates in Ho Chi Minh City have finished the three compulsory subjects: Literature, Mathematics, and Foreign Language.
The exam time for Literature and Mathematics is 120 minutes, while the Foreign Language exam is 90 minutes.
Later that afternoon, candidates applying for specialized or integrated classes will continue to take the specialized subject exam or the integrated exam, with a time limit of 150 minutes.
In the 2026-2027 academic year, Ho Chi Minh City will have four specialized high schools under the direct management of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training: Le Hong Phong Specialized High School, Tran Dai Nghia Specialized High School, Hung Vuong Specialized High School, and Le Quy Don Specialized High School.
In addition to specialized programs, the city continues to enroll students in integrated English programs at 10 public high schools, including: Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School, Bui Thi Xuan High School, Luong The Vinh High School, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, Saigon Practice High School, Mac Dinh Chi High School, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, Gia Dinh High School, Phu Nhuan High School, and Nguyen Huu Huan High School.
After the exams conclude, from June 3rd to June 9th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will organize the grading process, summarize the grading results, and compare the scores.
Subsequently, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will announce the exam scores, the admission cutoff scores for 10th grade in public schools, and the plan for supplementary admissions (if any).
