According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the Department has proposed and will continue to propose to the Ministry of Education and Training a policy of awarding bonus points in the 10th grade entrance exam to students who win prizes in the city-level competitions for academic and scientific subjects in grade 9.

At the same time, the Department of Education and Training will also research and propose timely forms of reward for teachers with good achievements in the work of nurturing gifted students. Today, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training also organized the city-level selection exam for gifted students in cultural and science subjects for 9th grade, academic year 2023-2024.

The Hanoi City-level competition for outstanding 9th-grade students in cultural and scientific subjects for the 2023-2024 school year attracted over 3,500 registered participants. These are excellent students, selected from tens of thousands of 9th-grade students from junior high schools and multi-level high schools across the city.

The entire city has 30 examination centers, located in 30 districts, counties, and towns. Students registered to take the exam in 13 subjects, including: Mathematics, Literature, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Informatics, English, French, Japanese, Civic Education , and Science.

Specifically, the science subject includes knowledge and skills from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with the general orientation of the exam being to require students to apply their learned knowledge to solve real-world problems.

To ensure the accuracy, objectivity, fairness, and integrity of the exam results, the team of invigilators and teachers will be rotated across districts, counties, and towns.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has deployed 1,055 officials, teachers, and staff to serve at this exam. Leaders of the examination centers all affirmed that the preparation of necessary facilities, personnel, and equipment has been thorough and comprehensive, ensuring that the exam takes place safely, seriously, accurately, and fairly.

According to the plan, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will announce the exam results before the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Dragon 2024.
