Proposal to increase the entrance fee to Ba Den Mountain to 20,000 VND per person.

(NLDO) - Tay Ninh proposes doubling the entrance fee to Ba Den Mountain starting in 2027, hoping to generate more resources for preserving the historical site and improving the quality of service for tourists.

The People's Committee of Tay Ninh province has recently developed a plan to collect entrance fees for the Ba Den Mountain historical and scenic site, proposing adjustments to the fee levels starting in 2027 to generate additional resources for the preservation of the site and the development of tourism .

Ba Den Mountain is a key tourist area in Tay Ninh province, envisioned to become a unique spiritual and ecological tourism center in the southern region, contributing to building a national tourism brand and promoting socio -economic development of the locality.

According to the plan, the entrance fee to Ba Den Mountain is currently implemented according to Resolution 40/2022/NQ-HĐND of the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Council, effective from January 1, 2023. Specifically, adults pay 10,000 VND per visit, children aged 6 to under 16 and senior citizens pay 5,000 VND per visit.

According to the Management Board of Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area, during the period 2023-2025, the tourist area is expected to welcome an average of over 4 million visitors per year, generating revenue from entrance fees of approximately 39.2 billion VND per year.

According to the project's forecast, the number of visitors to Ba Den Mountain in the period 2026-2030 will reach approximately 4.45 million per year.

According to this unit, the development of the new plan aims to ensure compliance with the Law on Fees and Charges, while also meeting the requirements for preserving and promoting the value of historical relics in line with the province's tourism development orientation for the period 2026-2030.

Survey results show that entrance fees at many tourist attractions and scenic spots nationwide currently range from 20,000 to 80,000 VND per person. Meanwhile, the fees at Ba Den Mountain are significantly lower than many destinations with similar conditions.

Based on that, the proposal suggests increasing the entrance fee to 20,000 VND per adult starting in 2027. Children aged 6 to under 16 and those eligible for discounted fees will be charged 10,000 VND per person.

Mount Ba Den – "The Roof of Southeast Vietnam" – is an extremely famous spiritual site in the southern region of Vietnam.

According to the Management Board of Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area, this plan was developed based on the principle of ensuring affordability for the people, aligning with the general price level of tourist destinations nationwide, and contributing to offsetting the costs of management, preservation, and promotion of the historical site's value.

The project forecasts that during the period 2026-2030, Mount Ba Den will welcome approximately 4.45 million visitors annually. If the new fee structure is approved and implemented from 2027, the total revenue from entrance fees during the 2026-2030 period is estimated at around 393.6 billion VND; with an average of over 90 billion VND per year during the 2027-2030 period alone.

The estimated cost for fee collection and site management during the 2027-2030 period is approximately 35.3 billion VND. The percentage retained by the fee collection agency is expected to range from 9.7% to 10.2%.

Mount Ba Den is currently a key tourist destination in Tay Ninh province, envisioned to become a unique spiritual and ecological tourism center in the southern region. The province hopes that adjusting the fees will contribute to creating more resources for heritage preservation, improving service quality, and meeting the growing needs of tourists.
