The Ministry of Health said it is seeking comments on the draft Circular regulating the decentralization of administrative procedure settlement in the field of food safety under the management scope of the Ministry of Health.
This is a step to reform administrative procedures, shorten processing time, and at the same time increase the initiative of specialized units.
This draft Circular is soliciting public opinions on the Government Electronic Information Portal, and is expected to apply to Vietnamese agencies, organizations, individuals, and foreign organizations and individuals with activities related to food safety in Vietnam.
Accordingly, the draft proposes to decentralize the handling of four administrative procedures under the management authority of the Ministry of Health to the Food Safety Department. Specifically, including:
Register advertising content for health protection foods.
Registering imported product declaration for health protection foods, mixed food additives with new uses, or food additives not on the list of permitted uses or not for the right users according to regulations of the Ministry of Health.
Register the declaration of domestically produced products with similar product groups as above.
Issuing and re-issuing Certificates of food safety qualified facilities meeting good manufacturing practices (GMP) requirements for health protection foods.
