DeepSeek reaches 20 million active users.

Just 20 days after its launch, a report from TrendForce shows that the app has attracted 20 million active users. DeepSeek is now second on the list of most popular apps globally, behind only ChatGPT, while ByteDance's Doubao app is currently in third place.

DeepSeek is currently the most downloaded app on the App Store in 157 countries.

Launched on January 11th, DeepSeek reached 22.15 million daily active users by January 31st, accounting for 41.6% of the total daily active users achieved by ChatGPT, which had 53.23 million users during the same period. Previously, Doubao was the leading app in the Chinese market with 17 million monthly active users before being surpassed in popularity by DeepSeek.

Many Chinese companies are 'willing' to support DeepSeek.

DeepSeek's success is also evident on Apple's App Store rankings, where the app has risen to number one in 157 countries, including the US. According to SimilarWeb data, DeepSeek's website surpassed Google Gemini in traffic just one week after its launch. As of January 31st, DeepSeek had 2.4 million users from the US, while Gemini had only 1.5 million.

DeepSeek's rapid growth has attracted attention from major companies in China. Tencent, Baidu, and Alibaba have announced plans to integrate DeepSeek's model into their cloud platforms. In addition, four leading GPU manufacturers from China, including Huawei Ascend, Moore Threads, iluvatar, and MetaX, have also expressed their desire to support the startup's development.
