Dell launches the affordable XPS 13 to compete with the MacBook Neo.

At the Computex 2026 technology exhibition held in Taiwan from June 2-5, Dell reintroduced its popular XPS 13 line.

Since its launch, Dell's XPS line has always been known for its cutting-edge design and technology, although its price is often quite high. But this year, the XPS 13 has received a lot of attention from users thanks to its starting price of $699.

With the XPS 13, Dell aims to redefine the concept of a "premium" laptop at an affordable price. Compared to its competitor, the MacBook Neo, the XPS 13 offers several significant upgrades, including a 2.5K touchscreen display with a 120Hz refresh rate, faster USB-C (3.2 Gen 2) ports, Wi-Fi 7 support, and a high-quality four-speaker system.

Another highlight of the XPS 13 is its backlit keyboard, a feature lacking in the MacBook Neo. It also features an infrared sensor for facial recognition unlocking. The base version uses an Intel Core i5 Series 3 CPU, while higher-end versions are equipped with the more powerful Intel Core Ultra Series 3 CPU, with starting RAM and internal storage options of 8 GB and 256 GB respectively.

Dell is confident the new XPS 13 is superior to the MacBook Neo.

Dell confidently targets the MacBook Neo and asserts that the XPS 13 surpasses it in many aspects. Notably, Dell even offers the XPS 13 at a discounted price of $599 for students, similar to Apple's pricing strategy for the MacBook Neo. The product comes in two colors, Sky and Storm, to provide a more stylish look.

"The XPS 13 is the lightest and most accessible version, embodying everything the XPS line has always represented. It's not an inferior version, but rather a smaller and lighter one," a Dell representative stated.

With a thinner and lighter design than the MacBook Neo but boasting a larger screen and higher pixel density, the XPS 13 is expected to become one of the best laptops on the market, building on the success of the XPS line and Intel's Firefly project, which paved the way for the recent launch of the Acer Swift Air 14.
